Obama's Nuclear Gun Control a Present to IRAN ?
Posted by BH 8:15 pm 2-15
http://news.investors.com/Article/601292/201202151830/obama-nuclear-warhead-cuts-are-irrational-.htm
National Security: The commander in chief who once pined for a world without nuclear weapons has decided a world without an American deterrent is a good start, seeking to cut the U.S. arsenal by 80%.
In a world where rogue states with unstable leadership are either in possession of or pursuing nuclear weapons, and with Russia rearming and China emerging as a world military and nuclear superpower, President Obama has ordered the Pentagon to consider cutting U.S. strategic nuclear forces to as few as 300 deployed warheads — below the number believed to be in China's arsenal and far fewer than current Russian strategic weapon stocks.
This latest example of presidential naivete, which makes even Jimmy Carter look like a warmongering hawk, seems based not on geostrategic reality but rather on the wishful thinking that the threat posed is nuclear weapons, not the enemies that possess them.
Pentagon planners have been asked to consider three force levels as part of a Nuclear Posture Review ordered by President Obama last August: a force of 1,100 to 1,000 warheads, a second scenario of between 700 and 800 warheads, and the lowest level of between 300 and 400 warheads.
Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney believes that even considering such deep strategic cuts is irrational. "No sane military leader," he says, "would condone 300 to 400 warheads for an effective nuclear deterrent strategy," he told Bill Gertz of the Washington Free Beacon.
Gertz also quotes John Bolton, former U.N. ambassador and undersecretary of state for international security in the Bush administration, as saying the administration's plan to cut the nuclear force as low as 300 is by itself "sufficient to vote against Obama in November."
The current U.S. arsenal has about 5,000 warheads. A cut to 300 would put us at a level not seen since 1950.
Just as liberals think that guns, not criminals, cause crime, foes of American exceptionalism such as President Obama believe it is nuclear weapons that threaten the world, not the tyrants who possess them.
They believe the once-unrivaled arsenal of democracy is really just the instigator of arms races. In the past, we would decide what we need to meet obvious threats. Obama seems to be saying let's disarm and the threats will just go away.
As the world's only effective defender of freedom and democracy, the U.S. has a slightly different mission statement and military needs than Russia, China or the rogue states such as North Korea and Iran.
To morally equate us with them is like saying there's no difference between cops and criminals because they both carry guns, so let's put restrictions on the guns.
In a 2009 speech in Prague, Obama spoke of "America's commitment to seek the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons," ignoring the fact that before 1945 we lived in such a world and it was neither peaceful nor secure.
While Obama envisions a world without nuclear weapons, and moves steadily toward unilateral disarmament of our arsenal, we envision a world without tyrants and thugs willing to use them against us.
We do not fear nuclear weapons in the hands of Britain or France, countries that share our love of freedom and democracy.
Nuclear weapons in the right hands ended the violence of World War II. In the right hands, they kept Western Europe free and helped win the Cold War. And the fact that they were used made it less likely they would ever be used again.

Our Inhouse IT Repairman ?Obama's Budget Program Lie's HERE'S THREE ?
Posted by BH 5:23 pm 2-15

Wednesday evening
William,
One could argue that Obama's just-announced budget is a great big lie. But let's be specific. Here are three lies...
Lie #1 -- $4 trillion in deficit reduction
"If Congress adopts this budget, then along with the cuts that we’ve already made, we’ll be able to reduce our deficit by $4 trillion by the year 2022 -- $4 trillion." -- BHO, 2/13/12
This is pure political deception. According to Obama's own budget, the projected increase in the total U.S. debt over 11 years (2012-2022) is $11.189 TRILLIION. (p. 245) There is no deficit reduction in Obama's budget. ZERO. But in Obama's world, an $11 trillion increase in the debt is called a deficit reduction. How? By taking credit for not spending money that either the government has already agreed to not spend or will not spend anyways, Obama is saying his budget saves $4 trillion. As the National Review explained:
Fully half of the savings come from the administration’s claiming as its own the $2 trillion in cuts won by congressional Republicans in the debt-limit deal. Some $850 billion comes from not spending war dollars that were never going to be spent anyway. Another $430 billion comes from jury-rigging the baseline to hide the cost of the infamous Medicare “doc fix.”
Of course, the $11.2 trillion increase is buried on page 245 of Obama's budget (see link below, download the .pdf, and see Table S-15, last line). So the fact is, Obama is lying.
Lie #2 -- Tax rate reductions amount to government spending.
This one will take a little explaining. In Obama's world, any tax rate below what he deems is the "fair share" is the equivalent of government spending. As our Marxist In Chief explained:
"Right now, we’re scheduled to spend nearly $1 trillion more on what was intended to be a temporary tax cut for the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans. We’ve already spent about that much. Now we’re scheduled to spend another trillion." BHO, 2/13/12
The "spending" Obama is talking about is government revenue (i.e. taxes) that the government isn't collecting because of the tax rates Obama doesn't like. So a tax rate below what Obama deems to be appropriate is government spending. Take this to its logical conclusion and the government owns all income. Anything we keep is government spending.
Lie #3 -- This isn't about class warfare
A classic debating tactic is to attack your opponent's best argument head-on with a direct denial followed by a restatement of your core beliefs which actually confirms your opponent's argument. Look at how Obama addresses the "class warfare" charge in reference to his budget:
"Some people go around, they say, well, the President is engaging in class warfare. That’s not class warfare. That’s common sense. That’s common sense. Asking a billionaire to pay at least as much as his secretary when it comes to his tax rate -- that’s just common sense. Because Warren Buffet is doing fine, I'm doing fine. We don’t need the tax breaks. You need them. You're the ones who see your wages stall. You're the one whose costs of everything from college to groceries has gone up. You're the ones who deserve a break." -- BHO, 2/13/12
Here, Obama issues a direct denial to the "class warfare" charge and then proceeds to lay out the classic class warfare argument. The rich are getting tax breaks.... You deserve those breaks....
Obama's " Pay to Play " Billions Snap Shot
Posted by BH 5:18pm 2-15
A great graphic from the RNC that captures the essence of the Obama regime’s taxpayer funded pay to play scheme that has resulted in BILLIONS of dollars going back into the coffers of Obama political supporters – and it seems more and more of these dealings are being discovered every day.
And where oh where is our mainstream media in their collective coverage of these and other Obama administration scandals?

Our Saudi Problem By Ralph Peters
Posted by BH 4:44 pm 2-15
Violent fanatical movements burn out. Some take longer to fade than others, but none endure. Inevitably, their ever-increasing excesses take the gravest toll among their own kind, alienating the population from which they demand support. If “revolutions devour their own,” religion-driven insurgencies are the ultimate cannibals: Witness al Qaeda’s wanton butchery of its fellow Muslims, a blood-lust that, along with our successful anti-terrorist strikes, have pushed the last decade’s great bogeymen to the far margins of events (al Qaeda’s recent announcement of its—unwanted—support of the anti-Assad rebellion in Syria is another desperate attempt to remain relevant).
My point? It’s time to shift our focus to more-serious Islamist enemies of civilization, freedom and elementary decency: the Saudis. Al Qaeda carried within it the formula for self-destruction, but the Saudis are the kind of threat that lasts: pernicious, perverted and patient.
I don’t worry much about the Obama administration’s recent blessing of the sale of another $30-billion in arms to Saudi Arabia, since the Saudis are too cowardly, lazy and incompetent to use them effectively. The threat from Riyadh isn’t military—it’s militant.
The one area in which the Saudis are dangerously skilled is global subversion of any society in which Muslims are present. The first thing you have to understand about the Saudi rulers is that they don’t care about Muslims, but only about Islam—their sick, Bedouin-hillbilly (dune-billy?) version of it. This is a critical distinction most of us miss, but I’ve seen it at work first-hand, from Kenya to Indonesia. The Saudis don’t care if tens or even hundreds of millions of Muslims live failed lives in squalor and misery—as long as they keep Islam “pure.”
In every country in which the Saudis are at work—not least, in the USA—their goal is the same: Prevent Muslims from integrating into the host society and accepting that society’s shared values. The Saudi nightmare is an educated, self-made man in a free society. So the Saudis pour in money to train radical mullahs, to bankroll mosques and Koranic schools most noteworthy for their intolerance, and to persuade families not to provide their children with sound, secular educations. Wherever they can get away with it—I’ve encountered this time and again—the Saudis bribe poor Muslims to take their children out of state schools where they might learn marketable skills and put them in madrassahs where they focus on memorizing the Koran (a skill not yet in high demand among Fortune 500 companies).
To further this agenda, the Saudis also spend extravagantly on building mosques at the extreme fringes of Muslim penetration—first, to mark the territory for Islam, and, second, to purposely anger non-Muslim locals as another tool to prevent Muslim integration (what do you really think the “Ground-Zero mosque” was about?). The Saudis’ front-men may preach tolerance when invited to the White House, but their consistent goal is to maintain—and expand—a firewall between Muslims and the rest of us. Foolishly, we play along.
Of course, all this means that their greatest victims and the worst sufferers are their fellow Muslims. One value the Saudi royal family shares with al Qaeda is a disdain for the average Muslim: al Qaeda kills them outright, but the Saudis kill their hopes for better lives—and then demand that they thank Allah for it.
Protected by Democrats and Republicans alike, the Saudis make sure we never know exactly how much they spend to spread their moral poison and tribal-cult version of Islam. But right now, in 21st-century America, estimates project that at least 70% of mosques and madrassahs in the United States receive Saudi funds, directly or indirectly. And they are not interested in developing good citizens for Uncle Sam.
The Saudi royals lack the courage of al Qaeda’s terrorists, but their dreams, if not their time-lines, are the same: A world that’s a vast prison camp of believers, in which piety for the masses is rigorously enforced, while those in charge can still do what they want behind closed doors (one suspects that the Saudis would keep London and Paris open as vacation spots where princes can whore and drink to their hearts’ content—it’s hard work keeping other people moral).
The Saudis are not going to succeed. Humanity just isn’t wired that way. But, in the meantime, they’re wrecking millions of lives—overwhelmingly, Muslim lives—while doing their best to subvert multi-faith democracies and spread the sort of religious fanaticism that leads lost souls to terror. The Saudis may not have steered Major Nidal Hassan, the Ft. Hood assassin, along his path to mass-murder, but their fanaticism inspired Anwar al Awlaqi, the butcher behind the butcher. And you can bet they were delighted by the news from central Texas…not least, because it drove another wedge between American Muslims and the rest of us: The only art that’s cherished in Saudi Arabia is the art of hatred—of Westerners, of women, of Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Zoroastrians, Shia-Muslims—you name the faith--and of anyone else who doesn’t sign up for the grim Wahhabi program.
Okay, so what should we do? We can’t do much overseas, since Saudi bribes are far more effective than our timid, inept diplomacy. The Saudis will continue to hold back Muslims from social and intellectual development around the world, wherever they can. But we can act here in the USA.
The biggest hurdle is money, which the Saudis employ as their primary weapon against free societies (and we support them each time we stop for gas). Over generations, they’ve bought good will from a long parade of American politicians, bankers and corporations. They can afford the finest lobbyists. Our defense industry loves them, since they buy the most-expensive junk on offer. And, amazingly, they’ve conned American liberals into believing that intolerance is tolerance—George Orwell would have fainted in disbelief.
We’ll never convince the Bush family Why I never want another Bush in the White House) or other political dynasties with whom Saudi diplomats have shared many a single-malt scotch and tennis game that these hate-mongers are really bad hombres, so we’ve got to work on Congress—especially, the House, where grass-roots movements still can make a difference.
What should be step one? Apply common sense—and call ‘em out in public. Our leaders permit the Saudis to fund—and pervert—religious institutions on our soil in the name of religious freedom. Well, whoa, Flicka! How about a quid pro quo? For the Saudis to continue funding hate-mosques and hate-schools here, we should get to establish churches and synagogues in Saudi Arabia, right? I mean, fair’s fair. And if they can send mullahs and missionaries here to poison American neighborhoods, we should be able to send a few thousand polite, well-scrubbed and earnest young Mormons to Jiddah and Riyadh to knock on doors (we’ll skip Mecca, just to be nice).
What, no deal? I’m shocked. Isn’t this all about tolerance?
Seriously, we must press Congress to forbid all direct and indirect funding of religious institutions on our soil that originates from states or governments that do not allow corresponding religious freedoms, as well as outlawing subsidies and grants from all non-governmental organizations (the usual disguise) and private individuals registered, funded or holding citizenship in the intolerant state in question.
Think about it: Isn’t it incredible folly to allow the most-intolerant religious tyranny on earth (much worse than Iran’s, folks) to poison American immigrants and native-born citizens with fanatical hatred, while we can’t even open a tiny chapel for expats in Saudi Arabia? This isn’t tolerance—it’s mindless support for intolerance.
Let me be clear: I believe there are many peaceful, admirable strains within the complex realms of Islam. I don’t believe for an instant that all Muslims spend every waking hour thinking about how to hurt us (Muslim societies consistently do the most harm to themselves). And I’d much rather live next-door to an honorable Muslim-American than beside a nominally Christian hypocrite who expedites home-foreclosures, but can trace his or her ancestry back to the Plymouth Colony.
Instead of condemning all Muslims, we need to recognize that we share common enemies: Yes, that means al Qaeda--which has killed vastly more Muslims than infidels—but it also means the primitive and degenerate Wahhabis of the Saudi royal family, who have done their best to hold back the Muslim world; to stunt the lives of Muslims living in mixed-faith societies; and to use our own sloppy “tolerance” to poison our society. The Saudis are the worst enemies of Islam since the early, devastating waves of Mongol invasions. And they ain’t our pals, either.
Al Qaeda is on its way out. Now we need to stop letting Saudis in.

Boehner FAST AND FURISOUS Controversy Continues To Grow
Posted by BH for DH 4:37 pm 2-15
Doug Book, author of the original post, is standing by his allegations, and he e-mailed us this response:
On February 7, 2012, we published a post entitled “John Boehner To Halt Fast And Furious Investigation, Sell Out To Holder And White House.” Congressman Darrell Issa’s office was quick to issue a denial of our story.Letters to the editor on the post have also filled this editor’s inbox, including this note from Fritz Mehrtens:Your article, “John Boehner To Halt Fast And Furious Investigation, Sell Out To Holder And White House” was denied by Congressman Issa’s office in conversation with a Tea Party member who I know to be trustworthy. I suggest you review the basis for this entire story and if it is incorrect or suspect replace the article with a correction. We cannot afford to have false reports bouncing around the internet.
Thanks very much for sending this to me. I emailed Mr. Mehrtens and provided the info he requested. Numerous people have commented on various sites, stating they called Boehner’s office and were told the story is untrue. As I told Mr. Mehrtens, I TOO hope it’s untrue! But given Boehner’s history, we’ll have to wait and see.It appears this story has made the rounds of the internet. It’s possible that Mike Vanderboegh is responsible for so much flack finding its way to John Boehner’s office; the Speaker might be forced to back off his betrayal!!!!! Now that would REALLY be an example of what we’re all “in business for!”
Also, the post has received mixed reaction in the blogosphere. This post on examiner.com by Dave Workman caught our attention this morning:
Allegations floating around the Internet that a “sell-out” on Operation Fast and Furious is being engineered were flatly denied Monday exclusively to this column by a spokesperson for the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. The allegation, which appears to have been repeated by at least two different internet blogs, is that House Speaker John Boehner has hampered the congressional Fast and Furious probe, and that some kind of deal has been cut to derail or at least slow down the investigation.Becca Watkins, press secretary to the House Committee, chaired by Congressman Darrell Issa, told this column via e-mail: The Republican leadership has been supportive of the Operation Fast and Furious investigation since its inception. There is no truth to these rumors that the speaker or anyone in leadership is hampering Oversight or (Sen. Charles) Grassley’s investigation.
Only time will tell us if the Republicans will sell out America by failing to bring the culprits to justice in this sordid story. Investigations are well and good, but once the lights dim and the camera’s go away, then we will see if someone is in jail. Only when government officials are held accountable for illegal acts will they become a cautionary tale for others considering similar schemes in the future.

OBAMA'S PHONY RECOVERY

President Obama, faced with no recovery from the recession as he enters an election year, has come up with a handy political gimmick: Fake the statistics.By DICK MORRIS
Published on TheHill.com on February 14, 2012
Printer-Friendly Version
The economic data that portend recovery are totally and completely inventions of Obama's political operation. The reality is that no recovery is taking place!
Economist James Fitzgibbon, of the Highlander Fund, explains how cooked the economic statistics on which the president bases his claims of recovery really are.
Begin with "gains" in the stock market. Fitzgibbon explains that they are no indication of changes in the public mood because the public isn't doing the investing anymore. He notes that HFT (high frequency trade computers) now "account for 80 percent [of the market's] daily business. No one else is left because they lost their money in 2008 and the public has fled the market ... Total NYSE volume is 67 percent lower on average than in 2008. Volume is 29 percent lower this year compared to 2011. The prices [have] no serious meaning."
Have consumers, as alleged, started borrowing again? Not really. Fitzgibbon explains that "credit use has surged only because the Obama administration changed the student loan program to a direct program and those loans are now counted as part of this metric. It is not comparable to anything prior to 2011." And, he adds ominously, "massive credit card use as measured against actual verifiable sales shows the increase is in borrowed funds to pay for food! Not my idea of a healthy sign."
How about lower unemployment figures? Fitzgibbon says they are a "joke." He says that the Bureau of Labor Statistics has "completely changed the ... metrics as of January 2012. None of the current percentages are relatable to anything prior to 2012!" He points out that the January unemployment data are heavily adjusted for "seasonal variations." He notes that "the actual data [show that the economy] lost 2.7 million jobs in January." And that's just the numerator. For the denominator -- the number of people in the workforce -- the data "also shows about 1.2 million people magically left the workforce." He says one has to go back to the early 1980s to see labor force participation as low as it is now.
Auto sales? He says "auto sales are when the manufacturer dumps cars and trucks on a dealer. Inventory stuffing! It has no relationship to actual sales to a consumer. Thanks to Obama, GM dealers are drowning in product no one wants to buy. It is a meaningless data point. Only dealer-to-consumer data is useful. It is not showing any growth at all."
Housing? He says positive news in this sector is unreliable. "The raw data we get shows it is worse than last year and in some regions [the] worst ever since the '60s."
So it appears that Obama's reelection strategy hinges on asking people to believe the data he puts before them rather than the evidence of their own eyes. It won't work.
Any economic recovery is only publicly noticed eight to 12 quarters after it has taken place. Ask George H.W. Bush, who lost the 1992 election despite very positive economic news at the end of his term. Or ask Clinton, who lost Congress despite two years of favorable job-creation numbers. It takes awhile for the good economic news to sink in. And, when there is no good news, just faked government propaganda, it takes even longer to sink in!
People will understand that Obama's data are a lie. The economy is not some abstract issue. Real people do not depend on changes in the unemployment-rate data to gauge their mood. They are more interested in whether they can get good jobs themselves. Obama's attempt to rig the statistics won't work. Indeed, it is a pathetic attempt
Rush Limbaugh Show: Obama Thinks He Can Buy Enough Votes and Continue to Weaken This Nation
Posted by BH 4:11 pm 2-15
From Rush Limbaugh Show
The reason Obama's budget is difficult to defend is because the regime's spending on donors and unions is destroying the country. Another solar firm goes bankrupt, and up next, wind companies bankrolled by Obama will go bankrupt. Every green energy endeavor is a total debacle, bankrupt, bailed out. None of this is traceable to George W. Bush. So Obama's calculation is class warfare politics. It is clear what they're doing. I had somebody say to me, sort of repeated what I said yesterday, "Rush, it's clear, it's now clear, the administration, Obama, clearly thinks that they can run as socialists and win election." They don't have to mask it anymore. As liberals, they don't have to pretend that they're not liberals, they don't think. They're out there not hiding who they are, other than this payroll tax cut extension. That's the only area where Obama's trying to make himself sound like a conservative.
The last thing they want is for this thing to pass. The last thing they want is for any legislation of Obama's to pass. And therefore any legislation coming from the White House this year is going to be outrageous. He must have a Congress that votes down or doesn't even vote, period, on all of his proposals. Obama has done nothing to bring down his deficit. And believe me, this deficit is his. He has done nothing to do away with the red tape that prevents real growth in the private sector. He has done nothing to improve education. He's done nothing to reform entitlements. He has done nothing to allow for the increase in energy supplies to bring down the price of gasoline. He even said "no" to the Keystone pipeline.
In every instance, the deterrent theory in the number of warheads and where they were deployed and how they were deployed, worked. The deployment of nuclear missiles in Europe scared the hell out of the Europeans, bugged 'em, but shortly thereafter the Berlin Wall came down. But Barack Obama has wanted to strip this country of its nuclear weapons ever since he was at Columbia University in 1983, if it is not before that. That's just the most recent that he's written -- or as far back as we can find. Yet note how the American people, the public have not been allowed to hear anything about these negotiations? We just today, out of the clear blue, get up and read in the AP-Obama's gonna reduce our warheads to 300.
CALLER: Yes, you do. You know, nothing is ever [Obama's] fault, but what I called about initially was that he has been creating debt that will make us subject to economic blackmail. And now he's going into nuclear disarmament that will make us subject to nuclear blackmail. We're surrounded by enemies external and internal, and I always thought that the Constitution said his primary job is to defend this nation. He's not doing that. At what point does this become treasonous?
RUSH: Everything that George W. Bush proposed in terms of spending, Barack Obama voted for. Obama voted for everything that came before him, every spending increase as a Senator, he voted for it. There were 14.3 million fewer Americans on food stamps than there are today. The record of economic damage and destruction in this country is owing to one man, Barack Obama. Are we ever, ever going to hear that anything is Obama's fault? In fact, what are we hearing? In fact, all of this is the Republican Congress' fault. Obama's running against a do-nothing Congress. He just submits a budget, a bankrupting budget that is indefensible, it's a campaign document. That's why it can't be defended. And that was made perfectly clear on C-SPAN this morning as the budget director was made a fool of by Scott Garrett, Republican, New Jersey.
But I have revised my thinking on this. I don't think so much Obama is campaigning as a socialist. I think what he has calculated is that there are enough Americans who will sell their votes for him. That may be a distinction without a difference, but I still think it's worth making. He thinks there are enough Americans who will sell their votes to him. Put another way, there are enough Americans whose votes he can buy, and he's making every effort to do it. He's trying to create as much dependence as he can in this country. Class warfare politics, unconstitutional mandates, contraception distractions, vote buying. That's what they figure will trump failed policies. It's clear that that's their strategery. So his budget is a campaign document. The president puts another irresponsible budget in order to run against a do-nothing Congress.
If there's a do-nothing guy, it is Obama, who is doing nothing to help this country. And yet he campaigns as if America's problem is a do-nothing Congress. And he can only get away with this with the help of a report-nothing media. And he's got it. He's got it right in the palm of his hand, a report-nothing media. America's rapidly accelerating deficit is a result of vote-buying sprees the likes of which we have never seen. It's a result of a Democrat controlled House and Senate in Obama's first two years in office. Democrats said "yes" to bankrupting the country, enriching their friends, and now we are reducing our nuclear stockpile to 300 warheads. At least that's the proposal. Obama wrote a piece while at Columbia University in 1983 spelling out exactly how he wanted to do this and why.
Make no mistake, and do not doubt me. Barack Hussein Obama views the United States of America as the problem in the world. The United States of America is the reason that there are inequities, that there is unfairness, racism, sexism, bigotry, homophobia, environmental destruction. Whatever the grievance that liberals have about the human condition across the world, it's our fault. It is the fault of the United States. It's the fault of capitalism. It's the fault of the 1%. We have robbed. We have cheated. We have stolen. We have co-opted. We have commandeered. We have conquered. That's his view of this country. And so let's reduce the stockpile to 300 warheads while the Russians have 1,550, while the ChiComs have more than 300.
Let's make this country vulnerable. Let's enact policies that will show the people of this country what they've made other people live through. Let's establish policies in this country that will make Americans finally understand the excrement sandwich they have put the rest of the world through since the days of our founding. I don't really care anymore, folks, sometimes I vacillate on Obama's motivation, and other days I don't care about it. But days like this when it becomes unmistakably clear, there is a huge and maybe more than one chip on his shoulder about this country and its existence and the way it was structured, that he doesn't like. And it's time that we were gotten even with. Plain and simple.
This reducing nuclear warheads to a number of 300 is staggering news. Obama could cut our nuclear weapons arsenal by as much as 80%. And that is an 80% reduction over the so-called new START levels, which have already taken our warheads down to dangerously low numbers. I think we've gone from 5,000 down to 1,500. He wants to take it down to 300 now. That would be the equivalent of unilateral disarmament, given the stockpiles of nations around the world. And of course it will be welcomed by the United Nations. It will be welcomed by the euro nations. It will be welcomed by Vladimir Putin, the ChiComs, the mullahs of Iran, the Obama Brotherhood in Egypt. And of course their allies in the news media and the Democrat Party will all think this is just one of the best days for peace there has ever been.
Three hundred nuclear weapons takes the US back to levels not seen since 1950. In 1967, we peaked at 31,255 nuclear warheads. That number helped us win the Cold War. The arms race was not about total numbers. It was about having more than all of your enemies because of the deterrent factor. None of these weapons were ever built with the hope that they would have to be used. Every one of these was built and armed and deployed with the hope and prayer they would never be needed. That's why they were built and deployed, to make sure they weren't needed.
Now, some people just arriving at this because youth may not understand, "What do you mean you build it so you don't have to use it?" Stop and think about it. From the deterrent point of view, you build all these weapons systems, you let the world know you have them, you let the world know you can use them, you let the world know they work, and everybody around the world will think twice about attacking.
That's what was so remarkable, if I might say, about 9/11. They didn't care! They weren't concerned that we would retaliate in any similar way with our arsenal. But up until then, the deterrent factor worked. The fact that we could strike back. Why do you think the Russians imploded, why the Soviet Union imploded? Again for those of you new to all this: The Soviet Union imploded once Ronald Reagan declared that he was going to build a Strategic Defense Initiative, a missile shield, Star Wars. It was over. The Russians knew they couldn't do that -- they couldn't keep up -- and they knew we could. They were already a Third World nation and empire with a First World military, and that's all they were.
We just today, out of the clear blue, get up and read in the AP-Obama's gonna reduce our warheads to 300.From what? Where has this been going on? Did Bush do this? Did Obama inherit this from Bush? What happened? Where did we get to this point? We've been kept in the dark about this. All of this had been going on behind closed doors. The most transparent administration in the history of the country! Why is that? Why is all this been going on with no knowledge on the part of the country? "Peace Through Strength" has worked every time it's been tried. Somebody tell me when "Peace Through Weakness" has ever worked. That's what Obama is cobbling together here: "Peace Through Weakness." (New Castrati impression) "Mr. Limbaugh, it's a proven fact that when the people of other nations..." This is the New Castrati talking to me.
"If we just show our enemies that we intend them no harm, Mr. Limbaugh, that we reduce the destructive nuclear weapons -- these weapons that could destroy everything on earth four times over! If we reduce those weapons we are sending the message to the rest of the world that we are fine, lovable, warm people, that we intend them no harm." No, that's not the message they're gonna receive. You think Ahmadinejad is gonna say, "Oh, you know what? Look at the Americans! What a bunch of good guys, getting rid of their nukes." No, Ahmadinejad, the mullahs, all these people, look at us a bunch of raving lunatics -- and they're going to see an opportunity. There you have it. Barack Obama: Destroying the US economy, downsizing the US military, reducing our deterrent nuclear force -- and blaming it all on George W. Bush.

RUSH: Who's gonna be up first? Joe in Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina. Thank you for waiting, Joe. Great to have you here.
CALLER: Rush, it's a pleasure to speak with you, and it is always educational to listen to you. "Right on, right on, right on!"
RUSH: Thank you, sir, very much. I appreciate that. We do make the complex understandable. We do try that.
At what point does this become treasonous?RUSH: Well...
CALLER: He is turning us into a Third World country.
RUSH: I don't think that would come under the rubric of "treason." But the answer to your question is (even if it were): "Until somebody charges him with it." I will say this again. Recess appointments when there's no recess? If the Senate is not gonna stand up for itself, he's going to keep doing it. If nobody from whom he is usurping power in the legislative branch is gonna stand up and stop it, he's gonna keep doing it. If nobody objects, in other words, in a way that has a force of law behind it, he's gonna keep doing it. I'll give you the example again. We've got laws on the books that says you cannot kill somebody. It's called murder. But people still do it.
Now, in that case we do try to find the killers. But imagine if we didn't. All we would have is a law that says, "You're not allowed to kill somebody cold blood. You're not allowed to kill somebody, period." But if we don't enforce it, what good is it? So Obama can do all of this until somebody stops him. Now, I know what you mean. When you ask me, "How can he do this?" you are making the mistake of assuming that we have somebody here with a moral code that would provide a loyalty and fealty to the Constitution. But we don't have that in this president. We have a president for whom, to whom the Constitution is an impediment.
The Constitution is a roadblock. The Constitution is a problem. The Constitution, for Obama and his boys, is a worthless document. They refer to it as "negative liberties." And by that they mean that the Constitution only tells government what it can't do (i.e., negative liberties). They resent the fact that the Constitution doesn't spell out what they can do, and so they want to rewrite the Constitution. FDR with his new Bill of Rights; Obama supports them. Obama wants one of two things. He wants to be able to ignore the Constitution with impunity, which he's being able to do. He's doing it. Nobody's stopping him. Ideally he would like a constitution that he writes that empowers government over everything and everyone -- and until he gets that, he's going to act as though that's what it says.
So how can he bring our warhead arsenal down to 300? Easy! He's gonna order it done. How can he make a recess appointment when there is no recess? Easy! Just make the appointment. And if all the Republican leadership is gonna do is stand up and say they "deplore" it, he'll laugh all the way to the appointment.

RUSH: Here's Bob in Newark, Delaware. Bob, glad you called. Great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.
CALLER: Yes, Rush. I'm gonna get right to the point. You've been saying it forever, and that is Obama has support of the largest public union in the world. There are the workers and there are the takers, and he has the support of the takers. They don't have to give him a penny. He just gives to them and they then give him his vote. It's exactly what you've been saying.
RUSH: Those are the people whose votes he's essentially buying. Exactly right.
CALLER: I don't want to be real pessimist, but he may be right, he may be running the gamble. There may already be enough of them that he can win a second term.
RUSH: I'm not so sure. I don't think the 2010 elections would have ended up the way they did if that were the case. I don't think that the vast majority of people in polling data would be opposed to Obamacare. But it could well be that pollsters don't reach these takers because they're so buried down in beds underneath the covers with each other that they can't be found.
CALLER: Rush, I don't disagree, I'm just saying that's his gamble. His gamble is there's already enough of them, that's the way he's going to go.
RUSH: No, that's exactly right. He's not trying to sound conservative. He's not trying to hide liberalism. He's not trying to hide anything. He's acknowledging what's going on. He's blaming it on the Republicans, but he's campaigning as a full-fledged big government redistributionist, that you've been screwed by the haves, and I'm here to make everything good now.

Railroaded? Female Cop Speaks Out After Nearly 10 Years in Prison for Unleashing Dog on Suspect
A female police officer sent to jail for ten years for police brutality has spoken out about what she claims is her unjust conviction, and what it means to have missed her son's childhood.
Former police officer Stephanie Mohr was convicted of deprivation of civil rights in 2001, according to the Daily Mail, after an incident in which she set her police dog on a homeless man in Washington D.C. who was a suspect in a burglary. The end result of that encounter was a torn muscle in the man's leg.
He has since been deported, as he was in the U.S. illegally.
But because of her decision to unleash her canine, Mohr ended up serving eight-and-a-half years of a ten year sentence. As Mohr was in federal prison, there was no parole option and she served 85% of her sentence.
She appealed her conviction and has always maintained her innocence. The politics surrounding the incident and subsequent trial clearly raise some issues of fairness.
Could this cop have been railroaded at the start of her career because of anti-police politics? Let's look at the facts.
In 1995, Mohr was part of Prince George County K-9 unit after becoming a police officer two years earlier, WTTG-TV reported. Then one day, suspects were spotted on the roof of a building in an area of Takoma Park, Maryland that had suffered from a rash of burglaries.
Mohr was called in as backup and officers surrounded the building while two suspects climbed down from the roof. Accounts differ as to what happened then, but Mohr claims:
"We were issuing them commands to stop and show their hands and to get on the ground. One of them made a move to go down an alleyway that was not covered and at that point, I committed the dog."
WTTG-TV has an overview of the case and an emotional post-release interview with Mohr below:
http://www.myfoxdc.com/dpp/news/special_report/former-pg-police-officer-discusses-her-experience-after-serving-prison-time-for-police-brutality-021312
There were no major injuries to the suspect, but the case against Mohr was left open. In fact, it was not until the day before the statute of limitations would have expired that official charges were filed against Mohr.
Given the lack of serious harm or death in the case, the motivation to bring charges appears suspicious. To put it in context, WTTG-TV reports that during this period, the Prince George's County Police Department was in turmoil:
"Citizen complaints and a string of media reports prompted a federal investigation of excessive force by officers. But the investigation yielded no major convictions. Then on September 20, 1995, one day before the statue of limitations was set to expire, Mohr was charged with deprivation of civil rights under color of law, a federal charge in police brutality cases."
The politics don't appear to end there. Mohr was acquitted on one charge during her first trial in February 2001, but the jury hung on the remaining charge. Despite this result, and the lack of serious injury to the suspect/victim, federal prosecutors decided to try her again.
In August of that same year, she was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in federal prison under then-mandatory sentencing guidelines.
Mohr said the moment she was sentenced, her thoughts went to her young son, Adam.
Over the next decade, Mohr got to know her son from photos taken in an outside prison yard. An adult would drive him over five hours to visit his mom in a West Virginia federal prison once or twice a month.
The man who helped send her there - Steven Dettlebach - is now the U.S. Attorney for northern Ohio. He stands behind the 8 1/2 year conviction of Mohr.
"In this case, you had a situation where two homeless Hispanic men were surrounded by police officers, who in a willful and wanton way, decided to attack them," Dettlebach says.
The former AUSA added that "the case is a tragedy all around. But to think that the jury rendered the right verdict, that the judge made the right determination, and that the fourth circuit sitting in Richmond made the right determination in the case? I do."
Mohr rejects that claim and adamantly stands her ground. Having already served her sentence, it's now a matter of principle. There is no way she can get back nearly a decade lost with her son.
"The federal government was desperate to make a case against a Prince George's County Police officer," Mohr told WTTG-TV. "After years and years of investigating, the only person they were able to indict and try was me."
Today, Mohr wants to focus on her home life, and spending time with her son.
"I'd like to go on a vacation with my son," she says. "I'd like to help him with his homework. I'd like to go to his sporting events and be the loudest and craziest mom in the stands."

Mortgage Settlement Not Only Thing Plunging Prices
15 February 2012 No Comment
By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com New data just released revealed delinquency rates for mortgage holders is up in the last quarter of 2011. Now, the national mortgage delinquency rate is 6.01%, up from 5.88% in the third quarter of 2011 according to TransUnion. This downward trend in real estate prices will not be slowed by this bad news. Also, keep in mind, because of the $26 billion foreclosure fraud deal just agreed to (that lets the biggest banks off the hook for forgery and perjury), the banks are only going to be empowered to spike the pace of foreclosures in 2012. This is all negative for prices in a market where nearly half of all homes in America (11 million) are worth less than the mortgage. More mortgage delinquencies plus more foreclosures will equal more bank owned inventory, and when you have a lot of something, the price goes down. It is a law of economics not even the Federal Reserve can defeat.
We have not seen the end of the trend of negative equity in real estate. I would not be surprised to see more than 60% of residential real estate become underwater in the next year or so. When the Fed stops suppressing mortgage interest rates (as it has been doing for the last few years, currently at or below 4% for a 30-year loan), what will happen to prices? You have to ask yourself, how many more people will just throw in the towel and stop making mortgage payments for a losing investment? My bet is the banks won’t even have to go through the grueling foreclosure process where they have to commit forgery and perjury. The big banks will just be getting a lot more “jingle mail” in the form of house keys from defaulting borrowers.
It seems no matter how bad the news is, it is spun to be positive for the so-called “recovery.” The Washington Post reported today, “We were hoping for better, because delinquencies remain very high,” said Tim Martin, group vice president of U.S. Housing in TransUnion’s financial services business unit. Prior to the housing bust, the mortgage delinquency rate typically hovered around 2 percent.” Here comes the positive spin to awful news. The Post story goes on to say, “He added that while the increase was not good news, the year-over-year decline is encouraging, and points to a continued, if slow, recovery in the housing market.” (Click here to read the complete Wa Po story.) (Click here and here for other versions of the same story.) You have to be kidding me!! Mr. Martin is certainly kidding himself that there is any kind of recovery in housing.
The mainstream media (MSM) just cannot let go of the “recovery” theme. Yes, some markets have had declines in mortgage delinquency rates, but they are in markets that have already taken bigger than average price declines in real estate because of the ongoing crisis. In those markets, the delinquency rates are still very high compared to the national average. This is a real estate collapse in slow motion that has been slowed down by ultra cheap rates and the Fed buying trillions of dollars in toxic mortgage debt. My only question is when will we see it all speed up to real time?

World Crisis in Pictures by Greg Hunter
By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com
It is said “a picture is worth a thousand words,” and the following story features more than a dozen from Greece, Europe and the Middle East where people are protesting the burden laid on them by the crooked, wreckless bankers. Nothing is settled in the European debt crisis, and the deal in Greece is on and off and on and off. This summer, journalists in the USA will probably see some of the same photo opportunities. This kind of a global story has to make investors a little queasy. The International Business Times featured a story Sunday that graphically shows major discontent in parts of the rest of the world. The story said, “ Tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets in several nations this weekend demanding political justice, economic opportunity, and a change to the status quo.
Demonstrators — who powered the Arab Spring, the worldwide Occupy protests during the summer and the anti-austerity marches of the European autumn — have used to past 48 hours to take over the streets of Portugal, Syria and Bulgaria, setting the mood for a veritable winter of discontent.
Here’s a look at some of the public actions:
Greece, Portugal: A huge surge of people heeded a call from Greece’s two main labor unions to march against a second set of austerity measures being contemplated by the country’s political leadership. A new round of taxes, public service cuts, and pension reforms — as well as a slashing of the country’s minimum wage — is being negotiated between Greece’s ruling coalition and various international actors as preconditions for a €130 billion bailout the country is trying to secure. An earlier round of austerity cuts is widely blamed as causing a deep recession in the country, which has seen official unemployment spike to 20.9 percent. Images of bloody confrontations between demonstrators and police have been pouring out of Athens since Friday, though the violence appeared to reach a boiling point Sunday, when protesters attempted to overrun the national Parliament. Similar, if much more staid, anti-austerity protests also took place over the weekend in Portugal and Belgium.
Syria: Even as the country’s military indiscriminately bombs certain cities, demonstrators took to the streets of Syria, demanding the ouster of President Bashar al-Assad. As is common in the Muslim world, public actions began following Friday prayers and have continued all weekend. Demonstrations in solidarity have been staged elsewhere around the world in the past 48 hours, with public support coming from Cairo, Beirut, Tunis, London and Palestine.” (Click here to read the reast of the story and see the pictures.)
