Staff Sergeant Robert Bales, the soldier being charged with the murder of 16 Afghan civilians as they slept last weekend, is currently being transferred to the high security military prison at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas.

Allegedly, Staff Sergeant Bales, after drinking heavily one night last weekend, left his post and horrifically gunned down multiple citizens of the village near his camp while they slept.  After that, he doused them with gasoline and burned their bodies.

While it’s still early, all indications and surveillance of the location (not the least of which being Sgt. Bales having turned himself in) suggest that he is indeed the one responsible for this atrocity…and it is an atrocity on so many levels.

Bales is a 38 year old veteran, who has served our country honorably for many years. After returning to Afghanistan for his fourth tour of duty to the Middle East, something in him snapped that apparently has caused him to allegedly turn into a mass murderer.

Is the NDAA illegal?  By Victoria N. Alexander

Digital Journal
March 18, 2012
A group called has filed a lawsuit against the federal government to block the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which, they claim, gives the president power to arrest and indefinitely detain U.S. citizens without evidence.
The state of Virginia has declared the NDAA illegal. Arizona, Tennessee, Washington, and Cherokee County, Kansas have passed or are developing similar legislation, which will render it unlawful for local officials to cooperate with federal investigators or U.S. armed forces trying to arrest citizens under the NDAA. These challenges are being made under the 10th amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gives states ultimate sovereignty. A group called the Tenth Amendment Center is offering local governments assistance in nullifying the NDAA in their districts. Severe criticism of the NDAA has been leveled by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Bill of Rights Defense Committee. This is a very serious set of events that is very much underreported in the U.S. media.
The NDAA was signed into law by President Obama on December 31, 2011 and went into effect on March 1, 2012. Although NDAA is designed to aid in preventing terrorism, critics say that the language is so vague that any U.S. citizen can be targeted. notes that political activists are especially vulnerable.
What Does the NDAA Say?
There has been some uncertainty as to whether or not the NDAA actually does potentially apply to U.S. citizens, and critics believe that this confusion may itself serve to disarm public concern. Nevertheless, there may be some credence to claims that the NDAA merely codifies already existing laws, for example, the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) which ended the rights to judicial due process of “enemy combatants,” defying the Geneva Conventions, and the 2001 Patriot Act, which allows the federal government to ignore privacy rights and seize papers without a warrant.

The Use and Abuse of Executive Orders and Other Presidential Directives

By Todd Gaziano
In recent years, there has been renewed interest in the proper use and possible abuse of executive orders and other presidential directives. Many citizens and lawmakers expressed concern over the content and scope of several of President Bill Clinton's executive orders and land proclamations. Congress responded with hearings and the consideration of several bills designed to curb the President's authority to issue such directives. In an exceedingly rare act, the courts reacted by striking down one of President Clinton's executive orders, and litigation to contest the validity of other directives is ongoing. Despite the increased public attention focused on executive orders and similar directives, public understanding regarding the Legal foundation and proper uses of such presidential decrees is limited. Thus, the increased public attention generally has been accompanied by confusion and occasional misunderstandings regarding the legality and appropriateness of various presidential actions. This Legal memorandum provides a general overview of the President's use of executive directives, including a discussion of the historical practice, the sources of presidential authority, the Legal framework of analysis, and reform proposals related to the use and abuse of presidential

Executive-order panic: Martial law in U.S.? White House quietly releases document that creates widespread worry

The White House’s late-week release of an executive order has sent the online community into an uproar, worried that President Obama had secretly provided himself means to institute martial law in America.
120220obamaovalofficeIn the common practice of dumping government documents on a Friday afternoon, just as the news cycle is wrapping up for the week – a move critics say allows the administration to avoid widespread coverage of embarrassing actions – the White House released an executive order on “National Defense Resources Preparedness.”

Filled with language about “government-owned equipment” and a “defense executive reserve,” among other vague statements, rumors began to spread that the executive order expanded the president’s power to do everything from seizing whole industries to drafting private armies.
A Canada Free Press article titled “Obama Executive Order: Peacetime Martial Law!” spread concerns of gasoline ration cards; while an Examiner article declared the order would “nationalize everything” and “allow for a civilian draft.” Facebook, email and Twitter were suddenly abuzz, and even the extremely popular Drudge Report posted a link to the White House release under the title “Martial Law? Obama Issues Executive Order.”
Screen shot of Drudge Report, "Martial Law" headline highlighted
But are the cries of martial law and expanding executive power justified?
No, says William A. Jacobson, associate clinical professor at Cornell Law School.
“If someone wants to make the argument that this is an expansion of presidential powers, then do so based on actual language,” warns Jacobson. “There is enough that Obama actually does wrong without creating claims which do not hold up to scrutiny.”
As it turns out, Obama’s executive order is nearly identical to EO 12919, issued by President Clinton on June 7, 1994, which itself was an amendment to EO 10789, issued in 1958 by President Eisenhower, and which in fact, was later amended by EO 13286, issued in 2003 by George W. Bush.
Obama’s executive order specifically assigns “executive departments and agencies responsible for plans and programs related to national defense” to do five things:
  • “identify” requirements for emergencies;
  • “assess” the capability of the country’s industrial and technological base;
  • “be prepared” to ensure the availability of critical resources in time of national threat;
  • “improve the efficiency” of the industrial base to support national defense;
  • “foster cooperation” between commercial and defense sectors.
Later provisions in the order establish the protocol for government agencies to purchase equipment needed in times of national emergency and even make loans to ensure the availability of that equipment.
Despite the vague nature of the functions, none mention anything about martial law or seizing private property. The five functions are also identical to those identified in Clinton’s EO 12919.
So why did Obama issue the order at all?
A side-by-side analysis of Obama’s order compared to Clinton’s, conducted by Ed Morrissey of, reveals Obama’s order is essentially just an update to reflect changes in government agency structure.
“If one takes a look at EO 12919, the big change is in the cabinet itself,” Morrissey writes. “In 1994, we didn’t have a Department of Homeland Security, for instance, and some of these functions would naturally fall to DHS. In EO 12919, the FEMA director had those responsibilities, and the biggest change between the two is the removal of several references to FEMA (10 in all). Otherwise, there aren’t a lot of changes between the two EOs, which looks mainly like boilerplate.
“I’m not ruling out the possibility that this is more than it seems,” adds Jacobson, “but unless and until someone [demonstrates any expansion of powers in the order], I’ll consider this to be routine.”
“The timing of this release might have looked a little strange,” Morrissey concludes, “but this is really nothing to worry about at all.”

They Are Above The Law
Why don't you stop complaining and just accept it? No one's going to do anything about us and you know it. This is L.A., not Phoenix or Atlanta. We can do whatever we like in So Cali, and if you don't like it you should leave. Go back to England or move in with your Klansman redneck friends in Arizona or Alabama!

Learn how to keep us happy because L.A. is ours now.

No one will do jack. Go ahead, call LAPD or the County Sheriff, see what happens. Making a call to USCIS or ICE? What a laugh! They'll tell you they're too busy! Hell, we're not
hiding in the shadows here, why would we?
Governor Brown, Mayor Villaraigosa, Chief Beck, the L.A. City Council and other politicians all kiss our asses! They don't care about your whining. Bitch and moan all you like, they won't enforce your racist laws.
Drivers licenses and insurance? Don't need them. They're not impounding our cars anymore.

We hit your bumper or graze your passenger-side door out here? Hey, you already know who will be paying for the repairs. Keep your deductible low!

Food vending permits or city business registration? What are those, fool!?! Police drive by us every day and do nothing. If you live in L.A., you know it's true. You deal with those pinche permits, not us.and maintenance. Hell, those aren't toll roads.
We have don't have the time or patience for your racist immigration laws. Returning home and waiting our turn to be admitted would just be too inconvenient. It won't be happening. Not now or ever, so stop waiting for it and crying about us.
Hey, are you actually naive enough to think many undocumented immigrants aren't voting? It's not like California requires proof of citizenship to get absentee ballots, or even ID at polling stations.

If you complain, make us uncomfortable, insist that we respect your rules and follow everyday laws, or try to pull any of that Arpaio or Brewer crap on us, this is exactly how it'll go down:  You'll be called racists and haters, and the L.A. Times, Univision, KCRW and local network news programs will have all sorts of news stories about hard-working immigrants being met with intolerance. Union officials, public school teachers, and local elected officials will wail about the need for diversity and compassion ... and you'll be the bigot and bad guy.

Don't think that'll happen? You don't believe there's one set of rules for you and a different set for the undocumented? If that's the case, you just don't know L.A.

You can count on it. Nothing. No local member of law enforcement or any elected official who has taken an oath to uphold U.S. laws will so much as lift a finger. These people, below, are not hiding. Authorities already know precisely where they are. In fact, they advertise themselves in news stories, on campuses and on the internet. They don't respect or worry about relevant local or federal laws. Why should they? Lots of regulations and statutes are routinely ignored in California. These folks are illegal aliens and out in the open.

Nation of Islam Newspaper Attacks ‘Minion of the Synagogue of Satan’ Glenn Beck for Farrakhan Comments: ‘We Will Not Allow Such Vicious Assaults’

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan
Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan
  • Beck discussed Farrakhan’s recent warning about a possible assassination of President Barack Obama.
  • Farrakhan has called Obama a “murderer” and “assassin,“ and Beck said his words constitute ”a clear and present danger to the president.”
  • The official newspaper of the Nation of Islam published a piece calling Beck a “minion of the synagogue of Satan” and said it will “not allow such vicious assaults” on Farrakhan.
  • The Koran “teaches Muslims to never be the aggressor in word or deed, but if attacked, we fight with those who fight with us.”
The Nation of Islam’s official newspaper The Final Call on Saturday published an opinion piece attacking “minion of the synagogue of Satan” Glenn Beck for his recent comments about Louis Farrakhan, vowing it will “not allow such vicious assaults” on the movement’s leader.
During his radio show Feb. 27, Beck discussed Farrakhan’s warning that racial hatred could lead to an attempt on President Barack Obama’s life, even suggesting that a Muslim could be set up to kill him. Beck wondered whether the warning could be a kind of set up to draw attention from Farrakhan and his followers — Farrakhan in the past has called Obama a “murderer” and “assassin.”
“I’m telling you this is a clear and present danger to the president of the United States,” Beck said. “Will someone in the Secret Service or DOJ investigate what is happening at the Nation of Islam?”

Responding to Beck’s comments, Abdul Arif Muhammad — identified as the Nation of Islam’s general counsel — said he “maliciously attacked not only the good name, reputation, integrity, and character of Minister Farrakhan, but also the over half century of redemptive work he has accomplished.”
“The Holy Qur’an teaches Muslims to never be the aggressor in word or deed, but if attacked, we fight with those who fight with us,” Muhammad wrote:
Mr. Beck is a minion of the Synagogue of Satan and as such represents the thinking of those used as their low-level pawns.  This group, Minister Farrakhan identified in his Saviours’ Day address, “…the Synagogue of Satan doesn’t mean that everybody in it is Jewish.  It’s a combination of people, Gentiles, Jews, Black and White that agree on an idea. And some on a lesser level do not know what those on the highest level are doing, but they always give you a noble reason for what they are doing.” Mr. Beck, a man who called President Obama a “racist” is now feigning concern for our Brother President.
Farrakhan, Muhammad said, was “seeking to protect the life of President Obama from the evil plans of the Synagogue of Satan”:
Minister Farrakhan gave guidance and instructions to all people of good will to protect the life of President Obama.  He implored, “Brothers and Sisters… it’s our duty to protect the President. So when you’re at the job, listen to what people are saying. If you work in the boardroom, listen to what people are saying. Act like ‘The Spook That Sat by the Door’ and make mental notes, because they can’t do what they’re doing without talking about it [in] some way. So you that are in the police department, listen; you that belong to the FBI, CIA, ATF, sheriff’s department, listen! Keep your ear to the ground, and if you hear something that don’t sound right, we’ve got to report it, because it is our duty to try and save the life of the man regardless of whether we agree with him or not—he’s our brother, and [Michele Obama] is our sister, and those children are our daughters. And I beg you, President Obama, stand up for justice and the American people, and don’t send these children to war for the sake of Israel.”
Seizing on Beck’s use of the phrase “clear and present danger,“ Muhammad called it ”coded language“ that is ”a call for the U.S. government to target and destroy the Nation of Islam, and in particular assassinate Minister Farrakhan.”
Continuing to defend Farrakhan’s speech, Muhammad said the leader had explicitly warned Muslims against attacking Americans:
“[Farrakhan:]…Just think about the crap that America’s doing to Muslims and we’re dumb enough to fit in the pattern. You want to bomb a synagogue, you stupid thing! What can you do with a synagogue when God is present? Let me tell you what He‘s doing and what He’s going to do that makes your punk stuff like nothing. Sit down in the Mosque and pray, and go on and do the work of Allah, and leave Allah to kill whoever He wants to kill.”  These are not the words of a man that is a clear and present danger to the country.
We will not allow such vicious assaults on Minister Farrakhan, a man whose prescient and consistent warnings could save this country,” Muhammad said. “We will and must continue to respond to ‘anti-Farrakhan’ attacks. He deserves and has earned the right to be defended.”

Fifty year old manure spreader - $1 (Washington, D.C.)
Date: 2012-02-14, 10:21AM
EST Fifty-year old manure spreader. Not sure of brand. Said to have been produced in Kenya. Used for a few years in Indonesia before being smuggled into the US via Hawaii. Of questionable pedigree. Does not appear to have ever been worked very hard. Apparently it was pampered by various owners over the years. It doesn't work very often, but when it does it can really spread the manure and sling it for amazing distances. I am hoping to retire this manure spreader next November. But I really don't want it hanging around getting in the way. I would prefer a foreign buyer that is willing to relocate this manure spreader out of the country. I would be willing to trade this manure spreader for a nicely framed copy of the United States Constitution. * Location: Washington, DC

Hatfields and the McCoys’: Cops Arrest Ron Paul Backers in Missouri Caucus Chaos

Cops Arrest Ron Paul Backers in Missouri Caucus Chaos | St. Charles County
Police and organizers shut down proceedings at one of Missouri’s largest caucuses today, as Ron Paul supporters feuded with local GOP leaders.
“It’s like the Hatfields and the McCoys around here,” St. Charles County’s former GOP chairman told ABC News, after police arrived on-scene with a helicopter and removed Paul backers.

Video h/t: TheGatewayPundit
In St. Charles, an exurb of St. Louis and one of the state’s largest GOP counties, Paul supporters sought to elect their own chairman and adopt their own rules when proceedings opened – both of which are part of standard caucus rules and procedure. But as they argued with the caucus chair, Paul supporters held video cameras – against caucus rules, according to a GOP official who was there – and things became contentious.

It turned into a little food fight within the caucus, between the caucus chairman trying to control the caucus and certain elements, I guess with Ron Paul, trying to be heard,” said Tom Kipers, a former chairman of the St. Charles GOP, who attended the caucus at Francis Howell North High School.
An off-duty police officer, hired as security, eventually fielded a trespassing complaint against the Paul supporters and notified on-duty police in the area municipality of St. Peters, who, along with police from other jurisdictions, arrested two Paul supporters and ended the caucuses early. A joint-jurisdictional police helicopter arrived on the scene. Kipers said about 10 officers arrived in total.
“Two people were arrested for trespassing after receiving numerous warnings to leave the school property,” the St. Peters police said in a press release. “Both subjects were transported to St. Peters Justice Center where they were booked for Trespassing and released on a summons.”
Kansas City Star:
Organizers shut down one of the largest GOP caucuses, in St. Charles County, because of bitter disputes between supporters of Rep. Ron Paul and attendees supporting other presidential hopefuls. Confusion and contention also marred several other crowded Republican gatherings, the Associated Press reported.
In Clay County, arguments between Paul supporters and others became so intense the caucus chairman threatened to have voters removed by force.

Backers of the Texas congressman said they were upset their views weren’t being heard. “We’re just a little frustrated because caucuses are supposed to be run by a very strict set of rules,” said Paul supporter John Findlay, who lost his bid to become caucus chairman. “We raised a number of points of order, points of information, points of parliamentary inquiry, many of which have been ignored.”
But county caucus chairman Ben Wierzbicki said all caucus-goers had been treated fairly.
“Certain people have made it very difficult on most of the people who are involved in this caucus,” he said. “It might be a little crazy, but that’s part of it.”
After a three-hour-plus session, Clay Co. caucus-goers eventually elected delegate slates from both the 5th and 6th congressional districts whose members were officially uncommitted to any specific presidential candidate. Attendees also firmly rejected an effort to more closely align the party platform with Paul’s views.

ST. PETERS, Mo. – Voters here in St. Charles County did not get a say on Saturday in who will be the next Republican presidential nominee after a disorderly caucus on Saturday caused organizers to adjourn before delegates were selected.
The unrest began as the caucus at Francis Howell North High School was called to order more than a hour late, then delayed again when a member of the crowd refused to put away a video camera, as required by the rules outlined by the local Republican Party.
“People attended the meeting with an agenda,” said Eugene Dokes, chairman of the St. Charles County Republican Central Committee. “When that happens, it’s really hard to accept the authority of the room.”
Members of crowd began shouting, “We make the rules!” among other chants as organizers tried to regain control, which they did briefly. But the shouting quickly escalated when it came time to appoint a chair of the caucus.
