live in California. If you were wondering what living in Obama's second
term would be like, wonder no longer. We in California are living there
California is a one-party state dominated by a virulent Democrat Left
enabled by a complicit media where every agency of local, county, and
state government is run by and for the public employee unions. The
unemployment rate is 12%.
California has more folks on food stamps than any other state, has added
so many benefits and higher rates to Medicaid that we call it
"Medi-Cal." Our K-12 schools have more administrators than teachers,
with smaller classes but lower test scores and higher dropout rates with
twice the per-student budget of 15 years ago. Good job, Brownie.
This week, the once and current Governor, Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown, had to
confess that the "balanced" state budget adopted five months ago was
billions in the red because actual tax revenues were billions lower than
the airy-fairy revenue estimates on which the balance was predicated.
After trimming legislators' perks and reducing the number of cell phones
provided to state civil servants, the governor intoned that drastic
budget reductions had already hollowed out state programs for the needy,
law enforcement and our schoolchildren. California government needed
Echoing the Occupy movement, the governor proclaimed the rich must pay
their fair share. Fair share? The top 1% of California income earners
currently pays 50% of the state's income tax. CLICK BELOW TO READ MORE
Just a week ago the establishment media was aflutter with news that a CIA double-agent had thwarted a new type of underwear bomb attack targeting U.S. flights in a plot devised by al-Qaeda of the Arabian Peninsula.
But as the week progressed, a developing bombshell story got buried under President Obama’s gay marriage announcement. Not
only is the supposed CIA asset not a CIA asset at all, but the entire
operation was exposed prematurely and the double-agent’s life was
immediately threatened by an intelligence leak that very well may have
come out of the White House for political gain.
It turns out that wasn’t true. The double-agent hadn’t been recruited and placed by the CIA, but by British intelligence, who also managed the operation. In fact, the Americans had only recently been made aware of the joint British-Saudi effort.
As the stillborn investigation into the leaks continues (stillborn,
because if the leaks are in fact traced to the White House, there will
be no repercussions), the zeal with which the establishment media
trumpeted the supposed CIA coup won’t likely be surpassed by the more
important story of how the Obama administration
It's only Tuesday, but it has already been a terrible, horrible,
no-good, very bad week for the Obama campaign. Saddled with increasingly
bad economic data, the campaign has been doggedly trying to change the
subject to anything other than jobs and deficits. We've been treated to a
mythical GOP "war on women", a "debate" on birth control, a "road to
Damascus" moment on gay marriage, an "expose" of Romney "bullying" in
high school, and the burning question of who is a better pet owner.
Unfortunately for Obama and his allies in the media, none of it is
If Darrell Issa has any thoughts of the
full House voting on his Oversight Committee’s citation of contempt
against Eric Holder, he will first have to clear the idea with the
Attorney General’s staunchest allies and political defenders—Republican
Speaker John Boehner, Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor and
Republican Majority Whip, Kevin McCarthy.
Upon the Speaker’s office being provided a
draft of the citation last week, a spokesman for the Republican
leadership said “While there are very legitimate arguments to be made in
favor of such an action, no decision has been made to move forward with
one by the Speaker or by House Republican leaders.” (1)
SHIT OR GET OFF THE FENCE.. IT WILL HURT YOU
But now it appears these stalwart souls
have finally made that decision. They will “…slow [Issa’s] drive to hold
the attorney general in contempt over the controversial Fast and
Furious program…” for a period of “a month or even longer…” Apparently a
year’s worth of testimony and documentation linking Obama Regime
operatives to hundreds of deaths and the walking of some 2000 weapons
across the Mexican border just haven’t been sufficient to convince
Speaker Boehner that something is amiss. (2)
Republican leaders “…still don’t think the
case is ‘rock solid…’ ” said an aide to Representative Issa. Of course,
the fact that Attorney General Holder has refused to honor subpoenas
demanding he turn over an estimated 8000 pages of Fast and Furious
documentation might have something to do with Mr. Boehner’s feelings of
uncertainty about adequate proof. But a far more credible reason for the
Speaker’s nervous stomach is “…fear [of] negative political fallout from
citing the U.S. attorney general with contempt of Congress in an
election year.” Boehner, Cantor and McCarthy are “…worried about both
the legal and political implications of the move, especially six months
before what is already expected to be a razor-close election.” (2)
In fact, that’s the reason GOP leaders are
now pressing Congressman Issa to bring Democrat House members on board.
Boehner and the others believe it will reduce the political risk to
Republicans if a number of Holder’s own party members are willing to
make the contempt citation a bipartisan effort. And no doubt to Issa’s
chagrin, that now appears to have become a prerequisite “…before
[Republican leaders] let it come to the floor for a vote.” (2)
In short, John Boehner is demanding that
Democrat members of the House exhibit more courage in betraying their
own Party than he and other Republican leaders are themselves willing to
display by holding a corrupt attorney general responsible for
disobeying the law!
And why should Democrats join Republicans,
either in the contempt process or in a call for Eric Holder to honor
House subpoenas? After all, GOP leaders have shown no stomach for
pressing the issue beyond the occasional committee hearing or
threatening letter to the Department of Justice.
For 3 months, Coach is Right has warned
readers about a disgraceful lack of courage on the part of John Boehner
to honor his oath of office to defend the Constitution by bringing
criminal charges against Eric Holder. Many have accused us of being
unfair to the Speaker by inventing unsubstantiated tales of his
unwillingness to take a stand.

- The Green River Formation, a largely vacant area of mostly federal
land that covers the territory where Colorado, Utah and Wyoming come
together, contains about as much recoverable oil as all the rest the
world’s proven reserves combined, an auditor from the Government
Accountability Office told Congress on Thursday.
The GAO testimony
said that the federal government was in “a unique position to
influence the development of oil shale” because the Green River
deposits were mostly beneath federal land.
It also noted that developing the oil would have an environmental
impact and pose “socioeconomic challenges,” that included bringing “a
sizable influx of workers who along with their families put additional
stress on local infrastructure” and “making planning for growth
difficult for local governments.”
“The Green River Formation--an assemblage of over 1,000 feet of
sedimentary rocks that lie beneath parts of Colorado, Utah, and
Wyoming--contains the world's largest deposits of oil shale,”Anu K.
Mittal, the GAO’s director of natural resources and environment said in
written testimony submitted to the House Science Subcommittee on Energy
“USGS estimates that the Green River Formation contains about 3
trillion barrels of oil, and about half of this may be recoverable,
depending on available technology and economic conditions,” Mittal
“The Rand Corporation, a nonprofit research organization, estimates
that 30 to 60 percent of the oil shale in the Green River Formation can
be recovered,” Mittal told the subcommittee. “At the midpoint of this
estimate, almost half of the 3 trillion barrels of oil would be
recoverable. This is an amount about equal to the entire world's proven
(CNSNews.com) - Speaking Saturday night at an event sponsored by the
Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky expressed
surprise that President Barack Obama would say that his support for
same-sex marriage was rooted in the Bible.
"What version of the Bible is he reading?" Paul said.
"“The president recently weighed in on marriage," Paul told the crowd
at the Point of Grace Church in Waukee, Iowa. "And, you know, he said
his views were evolving on marriage. Call me cynical but I wasn’t sure
that his views on marriage could get any gayer. Now it did kind of
bother me, though, that he used the justification for it in a biblical
reference. He said the biblical Golden Rule caused him to be for gay
"And I'm like: What version of the Bible is he reading?" said Paul.
"It’s not the King James version. It’s not the New American Standard.
It’s not the New Revised version. I don’t know what version he is
getting it from.
"Now that doesn’t mean we have to be harsh and mean and hate people,"
said Paul. "We understand sin and if we believe it’s sin we still
understand that people sin. And we understand that we are not out there
preaching some sort of hateful dogma against people. But that doesn’t
mean that we have to go ahead and give up our traditions. We’ve got
6,000 years of tradition. There’s a lot of stability, even beyond
religion, there’s stability in the family unit. Just from an
anthropological point of view, the family is really important thing. We
shouldn’t just give up on it."
