TEXAS REPUBLICAN SENATOR WANTS TO FORCE VACCINATION AGAINST PARENTS RIGHTS

FREE ZONE MEDIA CENTER NEWS

Proposed Texas law calls for allowing vaccination of children without parental consent
Thursday, March 14, 2013 by: Jonathan Benson, staff writer

NAturalNews) If you thought the so-called "great state" of Texas was a bastion of freedom, liberty, and minimal government intrusion, think again. Efforts are currently in the works in the form of two new Senate bills to seize parental sovereignty rights and allow minors living in the Lone Star State to consent to vaccinations.

Senate Bill 63, entitled "Relating to consent to the immunization of certain children," would allow minors to consent to vaccinations without their parents' permission, violating existing Texas statutes that prohibit such action. Sponsored by Senator Jane Nelson, a Republican from Texas' District 12 near Dallas, S.B. 63 is a direct affront to the rights of parents to govern the vaccination choices of their children.
"Claiming a child can consent to receiving these chemicals is the same as claiming a child can consent to having sex or doing drugs," writes Melissa Melton for InfoWars.com about S.B. 63. "Texas statute 22.011 states, 'Sexual assault for anyone to intentionally or knowingly penetrate a person under age 17, other than his spouse,' unless the person is withing three years of age from a child of at least 14; anyone convicted stands to serve between two and 20 years in prison."

Jabbing a vaccine needle into the arm of a child, of course, is technically a form of non-consensual penetration, by definition. So in essence, Sen. Nelson's proposal to allow young children, who happen to be very easily influenced by adults, to consent to potentially deadly vaccines is a type of both sexual and medical assault by the state.

It all conveniently aligns with the United Nations' infamous Declaration of the Rights of the Child, which basically declares that governments have more power over children than children's own parents. Part of this sinister declaration, which is the driving force behind S.B. 63, claims that children can decide for themselves the chemicals they do or do not want injected into their bodies in the name of disease prevention. Corrupt Texas politicians also pushing bill to force daycare workers to be vaccinatedAs if this was not disturbing enough, Sen. Nelson, with the help of Democrat cosponsor Sen. Eddie Lucio Jr., has also introduced S.B. 64, entitled "Relating to a policy on vaccine-preventable diseases for licensed child-care facilities." If passed, S.B. 64 would require that all child-care facility workers be vaccinated in accordance with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s current vaccination recommendations, which is the most convoluted in the world.

According to the latest text of S.B. 64, all child-care facilities would be required to establish a vaccination protocol for each worker based on the "level of risk the employee presents to children." Similar to the forced-vaccination policies of many healthcare facilities in the U.S., child-care facilities in Texas would be required to keep a record of each workers' vaccination status, and enforce alternate "protective" measures like wearing masks and gloves at all times for those workers who exempt themselves from the requirement.

OBAMA'S ADVISORS: DISARM AMERICA THROUGH TAXATION

Obama’s Advisors: Disarm America Through Taxation

244142-guns-money-and-ammo
“The power to tax involves the power to destroy,” Chief Justice John Marshall in McCulloch v. Maryland, 1819.
Here’s what Obama’s advisors are telling him about the way to confiscate guns: Tax them.
They are advising him to tax guns, ammunition, magazines, and licenses and then attach draconian remedies for failure to register and pay the taxes. Set the taxes low the first year, then increase them gradually to the point where a person owning an AR 15, three magazines and a box of ammo would owe $5,000 a year in taxes.
If a gun owner doesn’t pay, the small print at the end of the tax law would subject him to jail and confiscation of everything he owns.
Why use this approach? Because people ignore gradual change and taxes can be imposed as a gradual change. It’s only when two things happen simultaneously that revolution occurs. First, the ideals underlying the society must be undermined. That has already happened. And second, there must be a spark that ignites revolt. Since traditions and ideals of the country have already been compromised, it would be unwise to create any sparks.

Taxes ignite no sparks. Getting a tax bill is a non-event. The hapless taxpayer grinds his teeth and gets out his checkbook. He’s in a bad mood for a month. There is nothing to rally around. No one has been killed or invaded, at least at the point  where the tax has been imposed.
Under this taxing approach you increase taxes to the point no one can pay them, then send a tax bill to the gun owners you know about (in Pennsylvania, that’s pretty much everyone who owns a gun), and you wait for someone not to pay. When a preferred target doesn’t pay, you send the storm troopers to his house, find his guns, and arrest him. You take the offender’s guns and his house and put him in jail for twenty years. Then you publicize the arrest and declare a period of amnesty for other weekend rebels and watch the guns flow in.
At that point, the country will have been effectively disarmed.
After the taxes are imposed and offending gun owners are picked off one at a time, wives will implore their husbands not to risk the family home, all their savings and the husband’s own freedom. And they will point to the examples of imprisoned and bankrupted gun owners that have already been held up to public view.
Norman Thomas described America’s descent into socialism very much in the way I have described America’s descent into gun confiscation:
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without every knowing how it happened.”*
That’s the smart way to do it, Barack. Get us a little farther down the road to socialism, then quietly tax guns, and finally, take them all.

VIDEO AND WOOP ASS SPEACH: CPAC'S LID BLOWN OFF BY PAT CADDELL

FREE ZONE MEDIA CENTER NEWS

Pat Caddell, the Fox News Contributor and Democrat pollster who engineered Jimmy Carter’s 1976 Presidential victory, blew the lid off CPAC on Thursday with a blistering attack on "racketeering" Republican consultants who play wealthy donors like "marks."

"I blame the donors who allow themselves to be played for marks. I blame the people in the grassroots for allowing themselves to be played for suckers....It's time to stop being marks. It's time to stop being suckers. It’s time for you people to get real," he told the audience that included two top Republican consultants.
Caddell stole the show as a panelist in the breakout session titled "Should We Shoot All the Consultants Now?" He spoke with a fire and passion that electrified the room. When the session began the large room was half filled, but as word spread of the fireworks going on inside, the audience streamed in. By the end, it was standing room only.
Breitbart News spoke with Caddell prior to his talk, and he promised he would deliver a "brutal critique" of the Republican establishment and its political consulting class. He did not disappoint, pulling no punches with an unyielding evisceration of a small group of Republican consultants, the Romney campaign, the Republican National Committee, and Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS Super PAC.
"When you have the Chief of Staff of the Republican National Committee and the political director of the Romney campaign, and their two companies get $150 million at the end of the campaign for the 'fantastic' get-out-the-vote program...some of this borders on RICO [the 1970 Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act] violations," Caddell told the crowd. "It's all self dealing going on. I think it works on the RICO thing. They’re in the business of lining their pockets."
"The Republican Party," Caddell continued, "is in the grips of what I call the CLEC--the consultant, lobbyist, and establishment complex." Caddell described CLEC as a self serving interconnected network of individuals and organizations interested in preserving their own power far more than they're interested in winning elections.
"Just follow the money," Caddell told a rapt audience. "It’s all there in the newspaper. The way it works is this--ever since we centralized politics in Washington, the House campaign committee and the Senate campaign committee, they decide who they think should run. You hire these people on the accredited list [they say to candidates] otherwise we won't give you money. You hire my friend or else."
Financial corruption is a key component of the current process, according to Caddell. "There's money passing under the table on both parties. Don’t kid yourself...If you can’t see racketeering in front of you, God save you."
As a Democrat, Caddell said he could tell the truth about the failings of the Republicans 2012 campaign efforts since "I have no interest in the Republican Party." He compared Republicans unfavorably to Democrats."In my party we play to win. We play for life and death. You people play for a different kind of agenda...Your party has no problem playing the Washington Generals to the Harlem Globetrotters."
Caddell left no doubt he is not an admirer of Mitt Romney's campaign management skills. He called Romney "the worst executive I've seen" when it comes to leading a political campaign. Romney's failure to attack Obama's Benghazi debacle during the foreign policy debate was "cravenness" that came about because his consultants told him "we don’t want to look warlike."

VACCINATION SKEPTICS SOUND DANGER WARNING

Vaccine skeptics sound danger warning

Billboard campaign encourages people to learn risks, failures before dosing kids

By Garth Kant
It’s one of the most difficult and crucial decisions parents face, whether or not to vaccinate their children. And, if so, which vaccines have benefits that outweigh the risks?

The National Vaccination Information Center is putting up billboards urging parents inform themselves about potential dangers from vaccines.
The billboards are going up in Arizona, Illinois, Texas, and Oregon.
“Vaccinations? Know the risks and failures,” read the billboards.
NVIC spells out its position on its website:
“The vaccine-injured community is composed of people, young and old, who are suffering from a spectrum of chronic illness and disabilities, including learning disabilities and developmental delays, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, seizure disorders, mental retardation, diabetes, asthma, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and other kinds of neuroimmune and autoimmune dysfunction.”
“Vaccines, like all medical interventions, have risks and benefits, which vary with patients and circumstances (including the disease and the vaccine,)” Dr. Jane Orient of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons tells WND.
There is a basic and longstanding divide between pro-vaccine and anti-vaccine camps. Where the truth lies is a matter of sharp debate. Parents have a choice between accepting the recommendations of doctors and the government or becoming knowledgeable enough to make informed decisions for themselves.
As WND Managing Editor David Kupelian has observed, “On one side you have the medical establishment, including the federal government’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which endlessly repeats the mantra that vaccines are safe and effective and everybody should get them. To question their wisdom makes you a paranoid conspiracy theorist.
“On the other hand, you have a substantial and growing movement of skeptics, including many medical professionals, who openly question vaccines. Some are strident, claiming all vaccines are bad for all people at all times and places, and a few even impute a sinister motive to vaccine manufacturers and the doctors that give the shots. But many others are careful and nuanced and very well informed. They consider each vaccine individually on its merits as well as its known and suspected negatives – and still come out holding up a big ‘caution’ sign,” adds Kupelian.
“All of us need to research this subject with an open and critical mind,” he advises.
WND has long attempted to provide such information by reporting on the controversies surrounding vaccines for small pox, human papillomavirus (HPV), autism and the wide variety of vaccinations given babies.
In January, WND reported the average baby gets 24 shots in 24 months.
Those vaccinations are for diphtheria and tetanus, whooping cough and measles, chickenpox and bugs that cause meningitis, pneumonia and diarrhea, and some are given a number of times.
A study for the government released in January by the Institute of Medicine, one of the independent National Academies of Science, said government officials do need to take concerns about the number of vaccines into account.
But, the study found “no evidence that the childhood immunization schedule is not safe.”
“Although the number of vaccinations recommended is greater than ever before, the vaccines used in the current immunization schedule actually have fewer antigens (inactivated or dead viruses and bacteria, altered bacterial toxins, or altered bacterial toxins that cause disease and infection) because of developments in vaccine technology. From 1980 to 2000, the immunization schedule’s total number of antigens decreased by approximately 96 percent,” according to Ada Sue Hinshaw, Ph.D, dean of the graduate school of nursing at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
But, just because vaccinations are safe for most doesn’t mean they are safe for all.
“It’s critical to understand clearly that most ‘health officials’ concerned with immunology are not focused on what is best for you and your individual child, but on what they perceive to be the best interests of the population as a whole. And from that macro viewpoint, they strive to maintain what they call the ‘herd immunity,’” Kupelian writes.
“And yet, because there are real dangers to vaccines, we owe it to our children, to ourselves and to God to become informed, and then make our decisions based on what is truly right for us, not on other people’s notions of what they think serves the collective good. They might well be wrong,” he adds.
One vaccine for children has been under particularly intense scrutiny.

Mark Burnett says 'weird things happened' on 'The Bible' set

Last Sunday, the first installment of History’s five-part miniseries The Bible beat everything on television with a massive 13.1 million viewers, making it cable’s most-watched entertainment telecast this year.
For producer Mark Burnett, who worked on the ten-hour special with wife Roma Downey, the success of The Bible isn’t all that surprising. “It will be, over the next 40 or 50 years, the most watched thing that Roma and I have ever made,” he told EW, quite confidently, back in January.
At the time, Burnett gushed about shooting the series. “I really believe what I’m going to tell you right now,” he said. “The hand of God was on this…. the edit came together perfectly, the actors came together perfectly, it just comes to life.” But Burnett wasn’t just speaking about how well the practicalities of production had gone. “Weird things happened during filming,” he said. “Everybody would look at each other like, “Whoa.”
Here are a few of the “weird things” he was talking about:
A mighty desert wind
“There’s a scene with Jesus and Nicodemus, when Nicodemus comes to Jesus in the night. It’s a very still night, not a breath of wind, and we’re on the edge of the Sahara desert in a palm grove in an oasis… Jesus says, ‘The Holy Spirit is like the wind.’ At that moment, a wind, like as if a 747 was taking off, blew his hair, almost blew the set over and sustained for 20 seconds across the desert, and the actors didn’t break — they kept going. And everything stopped. Everyone just looked at everyone like, ‘What just happened?’”

The missing frock
“We had hundreds of craftsmen working [on making costumes], and the most important costume was Jesus’ costume. Every time, at the end of the day, the costume’s got to be taken away to be maintained. So when we were doing the baptism scenes, it’s completely immersed in water. During it, a portion of the costume came away. We shot this in a giant reservoir on the edge of the Sahara desert, so we’re never going to find this again. It’s really bad. Every time you lose something, you’ve got five months ahead, and you can’t replicate these costumes. Four days later, a kid showed up from many, many, many miles away, who had been seeking us through the desert to return this to us. He didn’t know what it was why he should seek us, but he felt he had to return it.”

Cobras at the cross
“We had a snake wrangler every day on the set. I mean, we’ve got a couple hundred people shooting, and we can’t afford to have people getting bitten by snakes. Every day, this guy would find a snake or maybe two snakes, and remove them. On the day of the crucifixion, a lot of people prayed. The cross was a huge thing. They prayed [for safety], ‘Imagine if this cross fell. The actor playing Jesus could be killed or badly injured.’ The snake man came to work that day — he’d gotten there early on the mountain playing Golgotha, and the bag of snakes [he was carrying] was the biggest bag I’d ever seen. He came to my wife and said, ‘Miss Roma, there were 48 snakes.’ He found 48 cobras and vipers hidden within the rocks around the cross.”

Whether or not you believe these were on-set miracles or just mere coincidences, one thing is certain — The Bible’s ratings are , in fact, pretty divine.

Scientists warn Oregon legislators of cataclysm when earthquake and tsunami strike

by END TIME HEADLINES
More than 10,000 people could die when -- not if -- a monster earthquake and tsunami occur just off the Pacific Northwest coast, a new study predicts. Coastal towns would be inundated. Schools, buildings and bridges would collapse, and economic damage could hit $32 billion. The chilling report by the Oregon Seismic Safety Policy Advisory Commission was presented Thursday to Oregon legislators. In 2011, the Legislature authorized the study of what would happen if a quake and tsunami such as the one that devastated Japan hit the Pacific Northwest. The Cascadia Subduction Zone, just off the regional coastline, produced a megaquake in the year 1700. Seismic experts say another monster quake and tsunami are overdue. "This earthquake will hit us again," Kent Yu, an engineer and chair of the commission, told legislators. "It's just a matter of how soon." When it hits, the report says, there will be devastation and death from Northern California to British Columbia. Many Oregon communities will be left without water, power, heat and telephone service. Gasoline supplies will be disrupted. The 2011 Japan quake and tsunami were a wake-up call for the Pacific Northwest. Governments have been taking a closer look at whether the region is prepared for something similar and discovering it is not. Oregon legislators requested the study so they could better inform themselves about what needs to be done to prepare and recover from such a giant natural disaster. The report says that geologically, Oregon and Japan are mirror images. Despite the devastation in Japan, that country was more prepared than Oregon because it had spent billions on technology to reduce the damage, the report says. Jay Wilson, who works for the Clackamas County emergency management department and is vice chair of the commission, visited Japan and said he was profoundly affected as he walked through villages ravaged by the tsunami. "It was just as if these communities were ghost towns and for the most part there was nothing left," he said. Wilson told legislators that there was a similar event 313 years ago in the Pacific Northwest, and "we're well within the window for it to happen again" Source

STUDENTS USING PALMS TO PAY FOR LUNCH

PROPHECY WATCH: Students using palms to pay for lunch

by END TIME HEADLINES
Students in Bossier Parish will be saying goodbye to using cash, loose change, or cards to pay for lunch. The school district is adding palm scanning technology to each school cafeteria as the preferred option for students to buy lunch. Parents received notification Wednesday of the installation of the palm scanners. "Sometimes they say they do not get much time at all, they say they only get 10 or 15 minutes," says Bossier Parish parent Long Nguyen. District officials say this technology will move lunch lines faster giving students more time to eat. The scanners use infrared lasers to map out each student's vein coordinates. According to school officials, it will take only seconds for the system to recognize the student's data to purchase the lunch from their school account. "There is no risk of personal information being shared," says Kim Anderson with MCS Software. However, all parents are not convinced this is needed. KSLA News 12 received an email from one Bossier Parish parent who is concerned this technology will desensitize their student to the need to protect private information. School Board officials say the system is adding an extra layer of security for students and parents. Parents do have the option to opt out of the program. Within 6 weeks this program will be active in all Bossier Parish Schools, and it begins at Waller Elementary School on Monday. Source

Conservative Rockstar Ben Carson Excites CPAC Crowd With 2016 Talk

Dr. Ben Carson wowed the crowd at CPAC with a thoughtful speech that mixed tidbits about neuroscience with current politics and policy and in the process managed to firmly cement his position as a conservative darling. Carson drew a loud and sustained applause when he said toyed with the crowd about a possible 2016 crowd.
Carson rocketed to superstardom in conservative circles after lecturing President Obama during the National Prayer Breakfast in February . He further raised his profile among the conservatives by making the rounds on numerous right-leaning media shows and being ridiculed on some left-leaning programs.
During his speech 22 minute speech the neurosurgeon focused on what he called “common sense” and “logic” in today’s political world and implored not just conservatives but liberals, too, to use it everyday. Carson hit on religious themes while frequently circling back to the prayer breakfast that put him on the radar of national conservatives.
“This is a country for, of, and by the people not for, of, and by the government. If we turn it over to them we cannot complain about what they’re doing because this is a natural course of men and we have to hold their feet to the fire,” Carson said.
Carson’s biggest moment came when he hinted at what it would be like to be president.
“Let’s just say you magically put me in the White House,” he said, eliciting a roar of cheers and long applause from the crowd.
“I take it back,” he said, before going on to explain how he thinks Obama is destroyin the nation by dividing the nation and pitting people against each other.

Hungary Destroys All Monsanto GMO Corn Fields

Hungary has taken a bold stand against biotech giant Monsanto and genetic modification by destroying 1000 acres of maize found to have been grown with genetically modified seeds, according to Hungary deputy state secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development Lajos Bognar. Unlike many European Union countries, Hungary is a nation where genetically modified (GM) seeds are banned. In a similar stance against GM ingredients, Peru has also passed a 10 year ban on GM foods.
Planetsave reports:
Almost 1000 acres of maize found to have been ground with genetically modified seeds have been destroyed throughout Hungary, deputy state secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development Lajos Bognar said. The GMO maize has been ploughed under, said Lajos Bognar, but pollen has not spread from the maize, he added.
Unlike several EU members, GMO seeds are banned in Hungary. The checks will continue despite the fact that seek traders are obliged to make sure that their products are GMO free, Bognar said.
During the invesigation, controllers have found Pioneer Monsanto products among the seeds planted.
The free movement of goods within the EU means that authorities will not investigate how the seeds arrived in Hungary, but they will check where the goods can be found, Bognar said. Regional public radio reported that the two biggest international seed producing companies are affected in the matter and GMO seeds could have been sown on up to the thousands of hectares in the country. Most of the local farmers have complained since they just discovered they were using GMO seeds.
With season already under way, it is too late to sow new seeds, so this year’s harvest has been lost.
And to make things even worse for the farmers, the company that distributed the seeds in Baranya county is under liquidation. Therefore, if any compensation is paid by the international seed producers, the money will be paid primarily to that company’s creditors, rather than the farmers.

 Obama Is Spoiled Rotten
 by John Myers

Obama Is Spoiled Rotten
OFFICIAL WHITE HOUSE PHOTO BY PETE SOUZA
“Spare the rod, spoil the child.” – Samuel Butler
Last week, Vanity Fair published an adaptation of Zev Chafets’ biography of FOX News President Roger Ailes, in which Ailes described President Barack Obama as “lazy.”
Ailes may be correct in saying that Obama “never worked a day in his life.” Yet I do not believe that the President is lazy. I think Obama was spoiled rotten by his mother and her parents and that he has continued to be spoiled rotten by overly adoring liberals.
The real Obama clearly expressed himself in 2008 when he became exasperated by reporters after a news conference: “Come on! I just answered, like, eight questions.”
Sorry, Obama, for thinking it was anyone’s job to ask you questions.
Obama is the last person in the room to be sorry about anything. (There is plenty to be learned about Obama in Richard Minter’s recent book Leading From Behind: The Reluctant President and the Advisors Who Decide for Him.)
According to White House records, the President was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Aug. 4, 1961. That makes him a member of Generation X, those born between 1960 and 1984.
What makes many of that generation so special is that they are born to baby boomers, who rejected raising their children the way generations of Americans had raised theirs. The baby boom went bust when they overindulged and spoiled their kids.
Raised by a single mother who was taking college classes, our 44th President had zero contact with his father. Instead, he found himself with his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, who was “finding herself” while traveling the world and continually going to college. When he was 10, Obama’s mother left him with his doting maternal grandparents.
Obama was not spoiled by money but by attention and adulation. One of only a handful of black kids at his high school in Hawaii, he was given extra merit for his intelligence. It seems clear that his grandparents, teachers and fellow students fawned over him, giving him an exaggerated sense of self.
Social scientists say that our basic personality is shaped at an early age. I have found that to be true. If we turn out to be kindhearted, industrious or insolent at 50, our behavior is cemented at a young age. In this regard Obama exhibits the personality of the peevish boy that he was while growing up.
On Jan. 27, New Republic published an interview with Obama.
One question asked was:
It seems as if you’re relying more on executive orders to get around these problems. You’ve done it for gun control, for immigration. Has your view on executive authority changed now that you’ve been president for four years?
Obama responded:
[T]here are certain issues where a judicious use of executive power can move the argument forward or solve problems that are of immediate-enough import that we can’t afford not to do it. And today, just to take an example, the notion that we wouldn’t be collecting information on gun violence just to understand how it happens, why it happens, what might reduce it–that makes no sense. …
Clearly, Obama sees things his way: the way a 5-year-old sees a Tonka truck.
The Telegraph summed up Obama’s leadership qualities:
President Obama sees his re-election as a mandate to continue the very policies that will eventually bankrupt the country unless they are reversed, regardless of huge opposition on Capitol Hill. It chimes closely with the president’s second inaugural address…, which offered absolutely no olive branches to the nearly 61 million Americans who voted for his opponent in November.
It wouldn’t be hard to fill a book on Obama’s self-centeredness. When Neil Armstrong died in August, the President posted a picture of himself looking up at the moon. What should have been a President talking about the greatness of an American hero became another self-aggrandizing moment by Obama.
How Dr. Spock Ruined America
I will wager that Obama never got a spanking. His upbringing is the kind that is on constant display; the baby boomers of my age were bound and determined to never use discipline on their children. Instead, they praised their children as being “special.” When those kids acted up, they begged and pleaded with them to be good.
I was hardly “Father Knows Best.” Most of the credit for the way our children turned out goes to their mother. But I won’t shy away from the fact that I did administer spankings to our kids on rare occasions, just as my parents did with me and my siblings.
Today, our children are 25, 28 and 30 years old. They all have good jobs, live independently and, in their adult years, have thanked me for the discipline they got.
What earned a spanking? A clear example was our eldest. When he was 4 we took him to the Seattle Zoo. As we got to our car, he got this strange look on his face and immediately bolted into traffic. I yelled, “Stop!” He kept going and reached a lane where there was an oncoming car approaching at 30 mph. The fact that I was then young saved his life.
When pregnant with that child my wife read what millions of baby boomers read: Baby and Child Care by Benjamin Spock, M.D.
If you ever thought Spock was a plethora of knowledge, think again. In 1989, while revising that book, he wrote: “I visited a small private school… with the idea of asking children… what advice to parents they’d like me to incorporate in the forthcoming revision of Baby and Child Care. … In a thoughtful mood, the class was unanimous that parents should not hit their children.”
I am shocked! What is next: recruits in the Marine Corp will say they don’t like PT?
Look around and you can see bratty behavior on display. (Shopping malls come to mind.) And kids don’t grow out of it. I have a friend that consults for a college football team. He tells me that sometimes parents call up the head coach at the university and question him as to why their son isn’t playing more.
There was a CBC TV documentary two years ago about post-baby boomers. It included a segment where parents phoned bosses of their 20-something children to complain that Johnny and Sally were not being treated fairly at work. The program concluded that spoiling children took off with Generation X.
Obama is not the only one in government who was spoiled. The ranks of Congress are also becoming filled with the overindulged and pampered prodigy of the baby boomer generation.
In today’s Congress, there are 115 members who belong to Generation X. While the average age of Congress is high by historical standards, its ranks are being filled by people who did not suffer events like the Great Depression and World War II. I don’t doubt that most of these members are intelligent and capable. I doubt many of them faced much hardship or discipline. They continue to demonstrate that they simply can’t “play nice” with others.
Yours in good times and bad,

The five minute NRA speech that would change the gun control debate forever

FREE ZONE MEDIA CENTER NEWS

BY SCOTT PINSKER
Editor's note: Author Scott Pinsker is a marketing and publicity expert who writes occasionally for Fox News Opinion. This is his vision of a speech he would like to see delivered by leaders at the National Rifle Association. It has not been delivered by the NRA.
Greetings. My name is Wayne LaPierre, and I’m the executive vice president of the National Rifle Association. After the national tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School, it was my hope that Red America and Blue America would finally come together and try to solve a serious problem, because protecting our children from violent madmen isn’t a conservative position or a liberal position; it’s a common-sense position.

Sadly, instead of offering new solutions, the same anti-gun zealots who’ve always hated the Second Amendment have politicized the deaths of kindergartners, adopting the Rahm Emanuel tactic of “Never letting a good crisis go to waste.” Anti-gun newspapers have even published the names and private addresses of law-abiding gun-owners – something they would NEVER do to sex offenders, drug addicts, wife-beaters, AIDS victims, welfare recipients or women who’ve had an abortion – and rightly so.

The Sandy Hook tragedy, the Virginia Tech shooting, the Aurora “Batman” shooting, the Tucson shooting – all of the killers were mentally unstable young men who were prescribed mind-altering psychiatric drugs.
The NRA tried to help: Since we protect our president, vice president, governors, senators, judges, banks, hospitals, office buildings and jewelry stores with armed guards, why does it make sense to protect our schoolchildren with a small sign that says, “This Is a Gun Free Zone” – and then hope that someone with a gun can get there quickly if there’s an emergency? Why do we have armed guards at middle school and high school football games – but not at the actual middle schools or high schools?
But this still doesn’t do enough to protect our children. The time for partisanship is over; now is the time for action. And that’s why the NRA is requesting the assistance of the ACLU.
The Sandy Hook tragedy, the Virginia Tech shooting, the Aurora “Batman” shooting, the Tucson shooting – all of the killers had something in common: They were all mentally unstable young men who were prescribed mind-altering psychiatric drugs.
These killers didn’t purchase their guns illegally, or watch Fox News, or circumvent background checks by attending gun shows. They didn’t have prior convictions or troubling police records. That’s not the common denominator. The common denominator is that these young men were sick – and everyone knew it.
The ACLU has done more than any other organization to protect the legal rights of mentally sick people.
This is a fact.
Because of the ACLU, mentally sick people can refuse medical treatment or psychiatric care, even when their mental condition has left them homeless and penniless. Even in situations like Adam Lanza, the 20-year-old Sandy Hook killer, whose own mother, according to reports, was unable to mandate medical treatment for her son.
The NRA doesn’t hate the mentally ill. They deserve our compassion and our help. But sick young men have spilled far too much innocent blood. This simply cannot continue.
The NRA is hereby inviting the ACLU to join us on a study to find common-sense solutions that will prevent violent madmen from harming our children. And then together, it’s our hope that the NRA and the ACLU will offer these solutions directly to President Obama.
This won’t be easy. It’s anathema to the NRA to deny any law-abiding American the right to bear arms, just as it’s anathema to the ACLU to deny any American the same civil liberties of his neighbors. But despite our personal biases, there must be a solution that’s better than the status quo!
An inspirational politician once declared that there isn’t a Red America and a Blue America, or a black America and a white America – there’s the United States of America. As Americans, let’s come together, rise above the rhetoric, and actually do something that protects our children.
Thank you.

CIA drone secrecy ruling rejected by federal appeals court

FREE ZONE MEDIA CENTER NEWS

A federal appeals court Friday reversed a lower court ruling that allowed the CIA to refuse to confirm whether it had information on the use of unmanned drones to kill suspected terrorists.
A lower court federal judge had sided with the CIA and dismissed a lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union seeking those records. In response to the ACLU's Freedom of Information Act request, the CIA said that merely confirming the existence of drone records would reveal classified information. But the government subsequently backed off that claim during oral arguments before the appellate court.
Friday's ruling by a three-court panel sends the case back to the lower court, where the agency can argue that the records it has on drones are exempt from FOIA disclosure requirements.
The initial refusal to confirm even the existence of a record is a Cold War-era legal defense known as the Glomar response after the Glomar Explorer, a ship built with secret CIA financing to try to raise a Soviet submarine from the ocean floor. The CIA had said that confirming or denying records in this case would reveal "among other things, whether or not the CIA is involved in drone strikes or at least has an intelligence interest in drone strikes."
In his opinion for the panel, Judge Merrick Garland noted that officials from President Barack Obama to John Brennan, then-counterterrorism chief and now the new CIA director, have acknowledged the use of drones by the government.
"Given these official acknowledgments that the United States has participated in drone strikes, it is neither logical nor plausible for the CIA to maintain that it would reveal anything not already in the public domain to say that the agency 'at least has an intelligence interest' in such strikes," wrote Garland, an appointee of Democratic President Bill Clinton.
"The defendant is, after all, the Central Intelligence Agency. And it strains credulity to suggest that an agency charged with gathering intelligence affecting the national security does not have an 'intelligence interest' in drone strikes, even if that agency does not operate the drones itself."
Garland wrote that "the CIA itself now appears to have recognized the indefensibility of its position." Stuart F. Delery, acting assistant attorney general, said in oral arguments last year that that the question of whether the CIA has documents on drones is "not where we're drawing the line."
The other judges on the panel were David Tatel, also a Clinton appointee, and Thomas Griffith, who was appointed by Republican President George W. Bush.
The use of drones has come under increased scrutiny recently. Last week, Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, a possible 2016 presidential candidate, used an old-style filibuster of Brennan's CIA nomination to extract a reply from Attorney General Eric Holder that the president does not have the authority to use a drone to kill a U.S. citizen on American soil if the citizen is not engaged in combat.
The ACLU's FOIA request seeks documents describing the legal basis for using drones as well as ones with information on civilian casualties, among other things. The use of American drones has provoked anger abroad, particularly in Pakistan, where human rights groups say innocent people have been victims.
ACLU Deputy Legal Director Jameel Jaffer, who argued the case in September, called the ruling an important victory.
"It requires the government to retire the absurd claim that the CIA's involvement in the targeted killing program is a secret, and it will make it more difficult for the government to deflect questions about the program's scope and legal basis," he said in a statement. "It also means that the CIA will have to explain what records it is withholding, and on what grounds it is withholding them. ... The public surely has a right to know who the government is killing, and why, and in which countries, and on whose orders."
Todd D. Ebitz, a CIA spokesman, said the agency "does not, as a rule, comment on matters before the courts."

Judge rules secret FBI national security letters unconstitutional

Judge rules secret FBI national security letters unconstitutional

A federal judge has struck down a set of laws allowing the FBI to issue so-called national security letters to banks, phone companies and other businesses demanding customer information.
U.S. District Judge Susan Illston said the laws violate the First Amendment and the separation of powers principles and ordered the government to stop issuing the secretive letters or enforcing their gag orders, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The FBI almost always bars recipients of the letters from disclosing to anyone — including customers — that they have even received the demands, Illston said in the ruling released Friday.
The government has failed to show that the letters and the blanket non-disclosure policy "serve the compelling need of national security," and the gag order creates "too large a danger that speech is being unnecessarily restricted," the San Francisco-based Illston wrote.
A Department of Justice spokesman told the Journal the department was "reviewing the order."
FBI counter-terrorism agents began issuing the letters, which don't require a judge's approval, after Congress passed the USA Patriot Act in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
The case arises from a lawsuit that lawyers with the Electronic Frontier Foundation filed in 2011 on behalf of an unnamed telecommunications company that received an FBI demand for customer information.
"We are very pleased that the court recognized the fatal constitutional shortcomings of the NSL statute," EFF lawyer Matt Zimmerman said. "The government's gags have truncated the public debate on these controversial surveillance tools. Our client looks forward to the day when it can publicly discuss its experience."
Illston wrote that she was also troubled by the limited powers judges have to lift the gag orders.
Judges can eliminate the gag order only if they have "no reason to believe that disclosure may endanger the national security of the United States, interfere with a criminal counter-terrorism, or counterintelligence investigation, interfere with diplomatic relations, or endanger the life or physical safety of any person."
That provision also violated the Constitution because it blocks meaningful judicial review.
Illston ordered the FBI to cease issuing the letters, but put her order on hold for 90 days so the U.S. Department of Justice can appeal to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
Illston isn't the first federal judge to find the letters troubling. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York also found the gag order unconstitutional, but allowed the FBI to continue issuing them if it made changes to its system such as notifying recipients they can ask federal judges to review the letters.
Illston ruled Friday that it's up to Congress, and not the courts, to tinker with the letters.
In 2007, the Justice Department's inspector general found widespread violations in the FBI's use of the letters, including demands without proper authorization and information obtained in non-emergency circumstances. The FBI has tightened oversight of the system.
The FBI made 16,511 national security letter requests for information regarding 7,201 people in 2011, the latest data available. The FBI uses the letters to collect unlimited kinds of sensitive, private information like financial and phone records.

VIDEO: Donald Trump: 'Stupid people' run America Real-estate mogul tears into GOP, policy on economy, illegals

FREE ZONE MEDIA CENTER NEWS

WASHINGTON – “Our country is in very, very serious trouble,” Donald Trump told an audience at the Conservative Political Action Conference outside Washington, D.C. today.
“Likewise, the Republican Party is in serious trouble,” he added.
The outspoken real-estate mogul ticked off a list of concerns: The economy, illegal aliens, American Crossroads, Republicans and in particular the Obama administration.
“We’re run by either very foolish or very stupid people,” he said in his speech. “What’s going on in this country is unbelievable. Our country is a total mess, a total and complete mess, and what we need is leadership.”
Trump blasted the Karl Rove-founded super PAC American Crossroads and the failure of the candidates it backed last year.
“When you spend $400 million and it’s a failure, and you don’t have one victory, you know there’s something seriously, seriously wrong,” he said.
Trump also had some advice for failed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. He said Romney should have, like him, touted his business success.
“Republicans and Mitt, and I told him this, didn’t talk enough about the things he did, the great things,” he said. “They were in the defensive instead of taking that offense.”
He also strongly warned the GOP that “the Republicans need to be very careful” the don’t grant amnesty and subsequent citizenship to the 10 million to 25 million illegal aliens residing in the United States.
Millions of new Democratic voters will be added to the rolls if President Obama succeeds in passing proposed immigration reform, Trump said.
“The truth is 11 million people will be voting Democratic,” he somberly informed the crowd. “Everyone of those 11 million will be voting Democratic. That’s just the way it works.”
Trump criticized the anti-European bias in the immigration system, which favors people from Mexico.
Trump said it is sad that the U.S. system encourages non-European immigration while discouraging European immigrants who “study at our universities” and then upon graduation leave and take their training to other nations “that compete against us.”
Trump also spoke about the economy, calling for the re-industrialization of the U.S.
“We must take back our jobs from China” and “bring back manufacturing to this country,” he said.
Trump spoke highly of the proposal by Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., to balance the federal budget in 10 years.
But he said, “The president should be the one to introduce a budget.”
Trump called looming debate on the debt ceiling “a very powerful weapon” that Obama “will override” through federal mandate.
He additionally chastised the Republican Party, saying it has “so much power and they don’t seem to realize it.”
He said with “every day that goes by they lose power” and the GOP should use the debt ceiling as a “bargaining tool.”
Trump also criticized the war in Iraq, lamenting the high loss of life and the financial burden, saying “we have nothing” as a result of the nine-year-long war.
He said America should take Iraqi oil to “pay ourselves back.”
He also criticized America’s hostile engagement with North Korea, asserting that the current policy “gains us nothing.”
