Calif. teen found safe, suspected abductor killed in Idaho wilderness, police say

WH

DEVELOPING: Missing California teen Hannah Anderson has been found safe in Idaho, while her suspected abductor James Lee DiMaggio has been killed, police say
San Diego Sheriff William D. Gore said San Diego sheriff's authorities have notified Hannah's father that she was rescued. "He was very relieved and very excited and looking forward to being reunited with his daughter," Gore said.
“She appears well and was rescued and will be transported to a hospital in Idaho,” Gore said.
Forty-year-old James Lee DiMaggio was killed by FBI tactical agents after a campsite was spotted from the air, according to Gore. Gore declined to discuss details of DiMaggio's death, saying authorities in Idaho will release details at a news conference planned for Saturday evening.
Federal and local law enforcement spent Saturday combing through Idaho's rugged Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness in search of Hannah and her suspected kidnapper, 40-year-old James Lee DiMaggio.
According to Fox40, DiMaggio, 40, was killed around 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
DiMaggio is suspected of killing Hannah's mother, 44-year-old Christina Anderson, and her 8-year-old brother Ethan Anderson, whose bodies were found Sunday night in DiMaggio's burning house in California near the Mexico border.
The discovery of the car came about two days after a horseback rider reported seeing the man and girl hiking in the area. Ada County Sheriff's department spokeswoman Andrea Dearden, who is helping the Valley County sheriff's department handle the case, said the rider didn't realize the pair were being sought until he got home and recognized them in news reports.
Investigators believe that after killing Christine and Ethan Anderson, DiMaggio set fire to his log cabin and detached garage and fled with Hannah Anderson in tow.
As the week went on, the manhunt expanded to Washington, Nevada, British Columbia and Mexico's Baja California. As tips poured in from up and down the coast, police cautioned that with Amber Alerts issued in five states for the car, DiMaggio may abandon the car and leave it rigged with explosives.
A friend of Hannah Anderson claimed the girl was "creeped out" by a crush the suspect had on her. The friend said DiMaggio explained that he didn't want the girls to think he was weird in an effort to defend himself after noticing he and the teen exchanged glances. She said he spoke while driving them home from a high school gymnastics meet a couple months ago.
A neighbor also told Fox5SanDiego.com that Hannah was afraid of DiMaggio and did not want to be around him anymore, but 'she didn't know how to tell anyone.'
"She's strong, she will make it through this," the neighbor said. "She’s smart and I pray to God, she’s just playing into whatever he's doing," she said. “I know she’ll get away. I can feel it – she will come home."
The children's father pleaded with DiMaggio Thursday on 'Fox and Friends' to release his daughter and turn himself in. He told his daughter to run if she has the chance

HERE WE GO AGAIN ON VACATION ?

WH

President Barack Obama has arrived on Martha's Vineyard for summer vacation with his wife and daughters.
Obama and first lady Michelle Obama landed on the Massachusetts island on Saturday afternoon. They flew from Orlando, Fla., where they both spoke at a national convention of disabled veterans.
The first summer vacation of Obama's second term brings him back to the place where he vacationed in each of the first three years of his presidency.
The president skipped Martha's Vineyard during last year's re-election campaign.
Obama will spend all or part of nine days on the island.
The president plans no official public appearances during the vacation. He's due back in Washington a week from Sunday.

Critics question IRS initiative targeting small businesses

WH

Small business owners across the country are receiving letters from the IRS questioning if they are reporting all of their cash income, in a new push by the agency some are saying could unnecessarily create fear in the small business community.
The Wall Street Journal reports the initiative is an attempt to respond to what the agency feels is a widespread failure by small businesses to report all their cash sales.
The agency says the letters are not the same as an audit, and it is simply seeking more tax information from the businesses. However, some lawmakers and business owners who received the letters say the initiative is alarming.
"There's an emotional thing when you get a pretty ominous-looking letter from the IRS, [saying] you might have done some bad things," small business owner Tom Reese tells the Wall Street Journal. "I really work hard with my accountant to make sure that I not only follow the law, but follow the letter of the law."
One letter the IRS sent is headlined, "Notification of Possible Income Underreporting."  It notifies the business owner "your gross receipts may be underreported" and says they must complete a form "to explain why the portion of your gross receipts from non-card payments appears unusually low."
One lawmaker says the letter’s tone implies wrongdoing from the start.
"The letter implies that this is a serious matter that could lead to assessments of additional tax, penalties and interest," says a letter sent to the IRS Friday by Rep. Sam Graves, R-Mo., chairman of the House Small Business Committee.
Though the IRS has only sent letters to small percentage of businesses so far, around 20,000 of the estimated millions in the U.S., the agency says they hope to expand the program in the coming months.
One small business owner says the initiative will likely create fear among business owners, as it is often difficult to match credit transactions with income.
"There are so many reasons why, even if you're the most honest tax payer, you're not going to match (what card records show),” Fran Coet, who runs an accounting business in Westminster, Colo., tells the Wall Street Journal.
For example, Coet says, when a company sells a gift card it does not count for accounting purposes as a sale, but appears as such to credit card companies.
In a statement to the Wall Street Journal, the said the agency is “working diligently to minimize burden on both taxpayers and tax professionals” in implementing the new program.
The agency has been under fire in the past few months when it was revealed it was unfairly targeting conservative groups for special scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status.

Egyptians turn fury on diplomat rumored to be next U.S. ambassador

WH

Egyptians have turned their fury recently on Robert S. Ford, the former U.S. ambassador to Syria now being considered as the next ambassador to Egypt, in light of unfounded rumors on a Canadian website about his past actions in Iraq.
Not only do his chances of taking over from current Ambassador Anne Patterson seem in jeopardy, Washington is now in a position of having to struggle even harder to repair its reputation in the region.
“It is a very difficult task,” Mohamed Elmenshawy, director at the Middle East Institute in Washington, told FoxNews.com. “Given the level of anti-American sentiment from all Egyptian political players, Ford has serious challenges ahead of him. It will take serious initiatives by the U.S. to recover its reputation in Egypt in order to make the mission of the new ambassador easier.
Earlier this week, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told a roomful of reporters that “we have determined that we do not have to make a determination,” on whether the U.S. government considered the recent Egyptian military uprising a coup – which could affect U.S. aid there.
Her semantic somersaults – and those of the Obama administration - are just the latest examples of political indecision fueling frustrations over what the country’s policy is and where U.S. loyalties lie.
The anti-American sentiment has been growing on both sides of the political divide in Egypt, with resentment toward Patterson reaching an all-time high. She has managed to simultaneously infuriate reformist protesters while also ruffling the feathers of regime loyalists.
In 2011, the same year she was appointed to the position, Patterson was branded “the ambassador from hell” by Egyptians and accused of everything from promising pyramids to Israel to cozying up to the Muslim Brotherhood.
Protestors in Cairo carried signs with her face crossed out while others chanted for her to go home. A common picture plastered around the Egyptian capital city was one of her face with the word “Hayzaboon” across it – meaning “ugly old woman.”
“Part of the problem Anne Patterson faced was a vacuum in policy,” Vali Nasr, the dean of the School of Advanced International Studies at John Hopkins University told The New York Times. “If she went and met with the Muslim Brotherhood, it was construed that she was pro-Brotherhood. If she met with the military, the Brotherhood thought she was giving a green light to a coup.”
Most recently, she has been tapped to become assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs and the Obama administration began searching for her replacement.
In Washington, whispers grew louder by the day that the president would tap Ford to fill the vacancy in Egypt.
But soon after news organizations reported that Ford was the likely successor, a Canadian website known mostly for concocting conspiracy theories, including some about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in the U.S., claimed Ford ran “death squads” in Iraq when he was political counselor at the embassy there from 2004-2006.
Forty-eight hours later, the website gossip had spread to Twitter. Then, Egyptian newspapers started picking up the story. What followed was anger and accusations directed at both Ford and America itself.
Trying to navigate the choppy political waters in Egypt hasn’t been easy. The vitriol and violence continues to grow daily despite recent diplomatic visits from representatives of the United States, the European Union and Arab Gulf states in an attempt to defuse the crisis and come to a non-violent compromise.
But as of now, the chances of that happening don’t appear likely.
In the past month, more than 250 people have been killed in Egypt in fighting between supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, and security forces.
On Tuesday, Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Lindsey Graham, R-SC, traveled to Egypt. The men urged the government to release Islamist leaders as a gesture of good will to the Brotherhood.
Egypt’s interim President Adly Mansour rejected the idea and basically told McCain and Graham to stay out of their country’s politics. The senators say they went to Egypt at the request of Obama, but their message conflicted with the one the White House has been pushing – and that, some say, is a big part of the problem.
“McCain sends double messages,” Elmenshawy said, adding, “(McCain) showed that the U.S. does not have a clear and united voice when it comes to dealing with Egypt. Hence that Egyptians do not understand the dynamics of American politics. For them McCain was speaking on behalf of America, not on behalf of the Senate or even on behalf of himself.”
In a Washington Post op-ed published Friday, McCain and Graham urged Egypt's leaders to embrace democratic governance and release political prisoners, including Morsi supporters.
"It is essential for all people and parties in Egypt to look forward, to resolve their differences peacefully through an inclusive dialogue and to make the difficult compromises and painful sacrifices that are necessary to save their country," the senators wrote.
Calls to McCain for comment were not returned.

Missouri authorities plan to file charges in crash where 'angel' priest appeared

WH

Authorities in Missouri say they will file charges in a car crash last weekend that left a 19-year-old woman critically injured, and the world wondering about the identity of the "angel" priest who prayed with her until rescuers could free her from the mangled wreck -- and then disappeared.
Officials are still scratching their heads over the cleric, who appeared out of nowhere. Perhaps more mysteriously, the local fire chief said he does not appear in any of 80 photos from the accident scene.
Ralls County Prosecuting Attorney Rodney Rodenbaugh said he anticipates charges will be filed against Aaron Smith, 26, who crashed his car at 9 a.m. Sunday morning into an oncoming car driven by 19-year-old Katie Lentz of Quincy, Mo., KHQA reports.
Lentz remains at Blessing Hospital, where she was treated for multiple fractures and serious internal injuries.
The crash went global after reports of the mysterious priest who stepped forward when Lentz asked someone to pray with her while firefighters struggled to free her from the wreckage.
“The fire chief, Raymond Reed, had stepped back and came up to me and said he was concerned because he was out of options. His tools weren’t working and by that time, it was almost an hour and said I don’t know how we’re going to get her out,” Ralls County Sheriff’s Deputy Richard Adair told KHQA.
Then the priest appeared – although the highway was blocked for two to three miles and emergency responders were not letting anyone past the roadblocks.
“He came and he asked to anoint the girl in the car,” Adair said. “My first thought was that it would possibly send the wrong message to Katie that maybe we had called a priest and thought she wasn’t going to make it. So I went back and talked to the priest and told him we were worried she would think we’d given up hope. He said, ‘I just want to anoint her’and so we just let him come up to the scene.”
Witnesses said he anointed Katie and her rescuers with oil, prayed with them and asked them to remain calm.
At that point the Hannibal fire department pulled up with fresh equipment and was able to free Katie. After getting her in the Air Evac helicopter, rescue workers said the priest was nowhere to be found.
Fire Chief Reed said the department took 80 photos of the scene and the priest did not appear in any of them.
The Diocese of Jefferson City says it has not located the priest involved. “Out of respect for the privacy of any priest who may have been involved and does not wish to come forward, the Diocese does not plan to further investigate this incident. The Diocese is grateful that a priest was able to exercise his ministry in this manner and requests prayers for healing of the victim, as well as prayers of thanks.” said Deacon Dan Joyce.

THE TRUTH ABOUT " STAND YOUR GROUND "LAWS

The Truth About “Stand Your Ground” Laws

Gun SC The Truth about Stand Your Ground Laws
The conventional wisdom among those in the mainstream media is that Stand Your Ground laws lead to violent encounters and are unnecessary. Many assume that “Stand Your Ground” is a new concept in the law- it most certainly is not. Even though laws specifically codifying the concept are new, the idea has been grounded in English common law (and therefore American common law) for centuries. Even progressive states such as California and Maine have some form of codified Stand Your Ground. Stand Your Ground laws were meant to restate and protect the right of common law self-defense. The idea that we have the right to defend our most basic right- the right to our lives – is not a new idea.
Prosecutors in many self defense cases were arguing that the accused could have retreated (or that if they did retreat, that they could have retreated even further.) Legislators wanted to give specific protection within the law for the right to defend yourself without the need to run from a lawfully occupied space. This does not mean that a person should not retreat- a reasonable person knows that if retreat is possible, they should retreat. The intent was to protect a person from being second guessed in a sterile courtroom by aggressive prosecutors. There are still overwhelming incentives for a person to use great discretion and avoid violent self defense. Even if found “not guilty,” the person who kills or maims in self defense risks severe civil and social penalties. In many self defense schools and books, the concept is: “if it is not worth dying for- it is not worth killing for.”
The Stand Your Ground laws also do not change any of the underlying requirements accepted for lawful self defense. We still have a duty to be innocent, reasonable, and proportional in our defense of self. The law does not protect someone who instigates a confrontation, nor does it protect someone who did not have a reasonable fear of death or grave bodily injury.
In the aftermath of the Zimmerman acquittal, the professional grievance industry has seized on Stand Your Ground and argued that the law is racially biased and hurts minorities- nothing could be further from the truth. John Lott has delved into the Tampa Bay Time database of Stand Your Ground defense cases and found several striking facts. Blacks are 16.6% of the Florida population, but they account for 31% of the Stand Your Ground defense cases. When black defendants are compared to white defendants, they are acquitted 8 percent more frequently. Unfortunately, more blacks are victims of violent crimes, so it makes sense that they would use the defense more often.
Lott has also looked at states that have passed Stand Your Ground and similar Castle Doctrine laws; and he found that murder rates dropped by 9%, and overall violent crime by 11% - even after accounting for a range of other variables. Other researchers have disagreed with Lott’s conclusions, and it is always hard to isolate one variable. If we look at Florida, where the most controversy lies, we can make some very clear assertions. Florida has made it easier to carry a gun and broadened the ability of justifiable self defense through Stand Your Ground. Violent crime has plummeted in Florida since 1992, from 1200 per 100,000 to 492 per 100,000. In fact, the two greatest year-over-year percentage drops, 2010 and 2009, have been after Stand Your Ground was passed in 2005 (and after the great recession began.) Criminals in Florida are aware that many Floridians can now lawfully carry a gun and defend themselves, and this does have an affect.
Most of us have no desire to be in a violent confrontation. You can never leave a violent encounter with more than what was brought in. The best you can hope for is to keep your health and life. Society is very hard on those who use violent force, even when justifiable. The law has a duty to protect individual rights, and above all those rights is the right to life. Stand Your Ground laws protect all of us from wrongful prosecution and punishment

MUSLIM MILLION MAN MARCH ON DC SET FOR 9/11/2013

Million Muslim March On DC Set For 9/11/2013

IslamWillDominateWhiteHouse Million Muslim March On DC Set For 9/11/2013
First, let me start by saying that I am not trying to scare anyone and that I’m not asking anyone to think like me. But I am asking people to think. I have many friends in the military who are keeping me up to date on the UN forces that are amassing here in OUR Republic.
The “Million Muslim March” on DC, set for 9/11/2013, is when I expect “things to get out of control.” And this POTUS may try to take advantage of the situation (and by “executive order” begin Martial Law.)With the MASSIVE buildup of UN Forces added to the Islamic Jihad Terrorists already positioned in this country, I believe something may happen; and we better be prepared.
Obama knows we’re all on to him, and he’s being backed into a corner with all of these scandals surrounding him. So what better way to stir up trouble than to have his Muslim brothers amass in DC.? No doubt they’ll have some instigators stir something up. Karl Marx said that “The masses are too stupid and ignorant to understand how good communism will be for them, so they need to be forced down that path, by any and all means possible. Lie, deceive, create class and race warfare issues, and use catastrophes (and if there are none, make some up; the ends justify the means)” Lets face it: Obama wants to be king, and what better way to begin Martial Law than to have his Terrorist Brothers cause problems?
Islamic jihad terrorists are well positioned here and have been for quite a while. Of the world’s 1.9 billion claimed by Islamic leaders, there are an estimated 7-10 million Muslims in the U.S. That is up from 5 million estimated 10 years ago. I believe the 7-10 million is a low-ball figure. No one knows for sure because our Census laws do not allow us to ask about religious affiliation.
All Muslims say the same shahada – confession of faith – There is no God but Allah. Muhammad is Allah’s prophet. That sets the stage for taking over the world for Allah, the establishment of a worldwide caliphate with Shar’ia Law, forced conversion of all infidels – unbelievers in Islam, subjugation in dhimmi of those who will not convert, or elimination of those who have converted or not at the whim of some Islamist leader (starting with any who have left Islam, then in order moving on to Jews, Christians, and others.)
Obama has said there are 2000 mosques, Islamic societies, and such in the U.S. now, up from 1200 10 years ago. Obama should know due to the strong influences on him by Islamists and Marxists; his installing Islamist and Marxist operatives in his tyrannical, despotic, evil regime; and hosting hundreds of Islamist visitors at the White House for consultations with him. The Islamists include Valerie Jarrett – Obama’s closest advisor, born in Iran – and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s adviser Huma Abedin – who has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
You can search online and get maps of the locations of: 1) the mosques, etc., 2) Islamic jihad terrorist fundraising sites, and 3) Islamic jihad terrorist training sites in the U.S. The mosques, etc. and fundraising sites maps are near mirror images. The training sites are under Jamaat al-Fuqra.
A specific purpose of Jamaat al-Fuqra is to recruit and train domestic terrorists in the US. The two Pakistani brothers arrested in Ft. Lauderdale last year may well have been trained by Jamaat al-Fuqra. Naturalized US citizens, they were planning terrorist attacks in the US with WMDs, according to the FBI.
If people are even semi-conscious (and not deaf, blind, and dumb), they should remember the Ft. Hood Massacre, when US Army psychiatrist Major Nidal Hasan ran around screaming “Alahu akubar” and gunning down US soldiers, their family members, and other citizens. There were also two young, unarmed US Army recruits shot down in front of a Little Rock, Arkansas recruiting station in that time frame. Various other plots have been thwarted. One was for an attack with bombs and real assault rifles, machine guns, etc. on Ft. Dix, NJ. An alert citizen got law enforcement onto that plot. He was and still is a camera and photoshop owner who saw pictures the plotters brought in for processing at his business.
According to a recent report, Obama has requested that at least 15,000 Russian troops trained in disaster relief and “crowd functions” [i.e. riot control] be pre-positioned to respond to FEMA Region III during an unspecified “upcoming” disaster.
Also in the report, DHS head Janet Napolitano said these Russian troops would work “directly and jointly” with FEMA, whose mission in part is to secure the continuity of the US government in the event of natural disasters or war.
Important to note, this report says, is that FEMA Region III (the area Russian troops were requested for) includes Washington D.C. and the surrounding States of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
